I'm from Dallas and was not familiar with this museum/gallery. (It's called a gallery, but it is really a museum.) I first heard of it when I learned that the International Guild of Realism has a display there in June and July 2015. The building is the size of a football field. The grounds are gorgeous and there is a... More

This is a wonderful little museum that may family and I have enjoyed for a very long time! The gardens are fantastic and the exhibits are amazing. Lots of Louisiana history and many traveling exhibits from other museums. A must-visit staple of Shreveport!

You can't beat the price! (Free) Lots of neat stuff. Be sure to take a walk around behind the museum and enjoy the fabulous landscaping if the weather is nice.

We've been here a number of times but always try to catch the various traveling exhibits. The permanent collection includes paintings by a number of famous artists, doll and gun exhibits, and quite a few western sculptures and artwork by Remington. The grounds are quite beautiful with a large number of different species of plants and flowers, really gorgeous this... More

This was a great place to visit. The staff was courteous and the museum was clean and impressive in the amount and variety of the artwork.

For the first time ever, June 2012 I finally went inside. I have lived here all of my life and I never knew the beauty inside. Highly recommend. Don't take small, impatient children. Especially if you really want to check it out.

We have been to this museum several times since learning about it from a friend--this after having lived in Shreveport for a short time and having visited there often since! What a delightful surprise it was, and IS, every time we visit. Mr. Norton was a prolific collector of all sorts of interesting artifacts and artworks. My husband particularly enjoys... More

We didn't have alot of time to spend here (only an hour) but what we saw was nice for and Art Gallery. My wife, Teenage Son, and myself enjoyed it. It was geared to a kid at bit older then my 8 year old, but she wasn't unhappy, just bored. It was a good size and it's free, so no... More

We were met by a gentleman at the entrance who directed us to the exhibit we had come to view. The entire building was wonderfully set up with exhibits: paintings, sculptures, views to the outside, special exhibits, and a doll collection. At several areas we met with more gentlemen who answered all our questions. The gardens were lovely. It was... More
