I can believe they don't charge for this. It was filled with eye candy! Oils, sculptures, prints, dolls, and guns... Beautiful landscape paintings. I actually felt hot in front of one painting of a temperature guage set at 102 degrees then a shade tree in the next pic to cool off under. Worth the trip. I promise who ever you... More

An interesting, unexpected museum with a variety of items to view: paintings, sculptures, old West, guns, dolls, native american art, tiny handpainted ceramic portraits. It's quite large and fascinating, plan for a couple of hours at least. Free parking, free entry. No gift shop. No photo's allowed, bummer. There are gardens, grounds, but we didn't have time for them.

This "gallery" is not worth the admission (which is free). While trying to appear as offering something of value, is nothing but a stuffy pretentious joke. Faux finishes to fakes copies and forgeries, I'm sure the only reason the don't let you take pictures is so real scholars and critics don't out them publicly. Thanks for the laugh.

Great facility with lots to appreciate. My wife and I are fans of art depicting scenes from the Old West, so were very pleased with the original paintings and sculptures by C.M. Russell and Frederick Remington, as well as Western landscapes by Thomas Moran, Albert Bierstadt, and painters of equal and lesser notoriety. If you are not familiar with this... More

My wife and I went here on a Thursday morning and essentially had the museum to ourselves. Firstly, it is entirely free! They don't even ask for donations or have a gift shop. Other than not being able to take photos anywhere inside or on the grounds, this museum is fantastic - truely! There is an excellent little bit of... More

I went on a trip to Shreveport and looked on TripAdvisor for things to do. The R. W. Norton Art Gallery got good ratings, so I put it in the GPS and got there easily. If you are interested in art and history, this is the place for you. The fact that it's free makes it even better. Each of... More

It was too hot to visit the garden but the Art Museum was huge, great and free. We got there at 3:30 and they close at 5. Had to rush a little to see everything but we really enjoyed it.

Wow! I read the reviews but was not prepared for this awesome museum. We spent over two hours here and could have spent much longer but they were closing. There are beautiful paintings, lots of sculpture by Remington and others, War posters, guns, crystal and other collections. I was most enthralled by the doll collection. I could have spent a... More
