There are traveling exhibits of all sorts of different art plus a permanent collection of western art and sculptures along with works by famous artists. Beautiful grounds surround the building too.

Have enjoyed so many visits and written great reviews for others but the changes in the gallery are so confusing and just sad. It appears someone loaded all the paintings on a cart and took a stapler around for any empty wall. No rhyme or reason here. Why is Harry Lee away from General Lee and historical paintings? Why are... More

Wonderful walking paths in gardens behind museum and nice small museum. Restaurants nearby. Some small traveling exhibits are sometimes shown.

This has been a great place to visit for many years. The grounds are magnificent! We go often for picnics, walks, family outside games, etc. The museum itself has tons of great artwork. You must check this place out!

I love this museum! It's small enough to easily see the entire collection in one visit, but that said, it is a large collection. I love the western art and the doll collection is exquisite. There is something for everyone, from traditional to modern, and of course they have shows/exhibits. In the spring, the grounds are the show, as there... More

Decided to visit the gallery to see some of my favorites by Remington, Russell, and Peter Ellenshaw. What a fortuitous time to stop by The Norton. I was greeted by staff, and learned that in about forty five minutes, the gallery would present Broadway Christmas, with music by the Shreveport Little Theatre Academy. I decided to grab a seat, and... More

Norton has consistently been at the forefront in Shreveport as far as exhibiting quality art from different periods. To wander the halls in this place is to transport oneself into various eras of great masters. One cannot fully appreciate this Gallery in one day...it takes several if you want to really immerse yourself. The gardens are simply magical and great... More

In a wonderful neighborhood location with grounds full of azaleas, walking paths, fountains, ponds and outdoor art. Inside it houses a world class art collection with emphasis on Western art. Has seasonal displays and sponsors seasonal "museum parties". A real jewel!

The people of Northwest Louisiana are indeed fortunate to have a museum of this quality in their midst. At the Norton you will find many docents to answer your questions and a great number of paintings, lithographs and statues. Frederic Remington's statues and paintings of scenes from the American Far Wes abound within the facility. There are also religious artifacts... More
