Wow! I read the reviews but was not prepared for this awesome museum. We spent over two hours here and could have spent much longer but they were closing. There are beautiful paintings, lots of sculpture by Remington and others, War posters, guns, crystal and other collections. I was most enthralled by the doll collection. I could have spent a... More

The Norton has an amazing variety of exhibits from oil paintings to watercolors to sculpture to textiles, glass, firearms, dolls, books -- the list goes on and on. And the museum is BIG -- you probably need to plan to be there a couple of hours to see and absorb everything that's on display. And it's free! As in most... More

I have to use 100 words to get my review accepted but words can't describe this place. First of all let's talk about cost to enter this fine art museum. There is none, it is completely free, not a penny. No donation boxes or membership applications either! This is a very big building and there is art of every description... More

There is truly something here for everyone. The variety of arts is amazing! There is a huge collection of Stuben glass, Remingtons, a gallery with dolls, we didn't get a chance to see it all but that definitely just means we should come back soon! Even if you could care less about art they have a great gun collection.

The gallery has been undergoing renovations to make it even better. A recent visit revealed new wall treatments, floor coverings, ceilings, and lighting. Many works have been moved, and I found the new method of grouping them most pleasing. While some of my favorites evaded me, or have been rotated to storage, I enjoyed several works for the first time.... More

We spent an afternoon in the gallery and walking along the pathways on the beautiful grounds. We were extremely impressed by both. We were amazed there was no admission to such fine art exhibits. I was surprised my husband spent more time in the doll collection area than the gun collection! Very well done and such a variety of creativity.... More

My husband and I traveled to Shreveport for the casino but we always check out what the city has to offer. This was a delightful find. The museum is open and spacious, not crowded like some and offers a diversity of art. The landsccaping is lovely and a beautiful garden. What not to like?

Beautiful and gorgeous flowers and plants under a shady pine area in the back which begs to be walked through very slowly. This place is very relaxing and well taken care of.
