Ok. It is not super col, but it will tell you a lot about the history of the area, which is interesting. In the early 1700's this was the border of the French colony. The Spanish fort was 10 miles down the road.

It's a nice place. Very small museum. The video explain the history very well. Very nice garden where you can walk to the reproduction of the fort. They have done nice work with this reproduction.

Lovely place to visit. We took the self-tour. You follow a book and read about all the stops on the tour. All the staff were very friendly and informative.

I liked the FREE clean safe open spacious parking available. I like that Adults fee is only $4 and Seniors over 62 enter free admission. I like the grounds and flowers within the Fort. I liked the 14 minute Introductory video inside the Admission building. I like seeing characters in period costumes walking the grounds demonstrating history.

This is a state park and is really interesting. There is a small museum which highlights the first French settlers in Louisiana. The museum also features an informative fifteen minute film. The highlight of this state park is a reproduction of the fort located close to the original site. Adult admission was only $4.00. The staff was very friendly and... More

My grandchildren are home schoolers and they loved the hands on self guided tour. They got to see a real Fort and learn how they lived back then. Thank you!!!!

Nice replica of the original fort, neat museum, and woodsy setting. The fort is very simple and basic with not alot of items to see like the plantations in the area, but still an enjoyable attraction. The film of Natchitoches history was good and the staff is great. We enjoyed watching some of their game camera films that were playing... More

I visited this site with my family when they came from out of state. It was the perfect place for them to get a small glimpse of early life in Louisiana. The two guides working that the site were very knowledgeable and spent a good amount of time answering questions and explaining things in relation to other historic events. The... More

It wasn't much to it, took about 15 minutes to see everything. Don't waste your time. It cost to get it, it should be free.
