Neat Town

Loved the town, though most stores closed. Big assortment of clothing, gift shops, & one very old hardware store full of nostalgia.

What a wonderful time! Visited the weekend before the Christmas lighting festival. It was not as packed as the lighting festival weekend but we were able to see the many attractions as well as the fireworks display. Phenomenal! I enjoyed the many shops along the way. Each are so nice. A little pricey but then again, I expected as much.... More

This is a wonderful place to find all the things you like. The shops include clothing, gifts, antiques, art galleries, specialty shops, boutiques, general mercantile (great for the guys) and more. Know when you plan your trip to this very special, Louisiana's oldest city, that most of the shops are closed on Sundays and Mondays. I would have give a... More

We spent a long weekend in Natchitoches and really enjoyed this quaint town. Full of history and beauty. Perfect areas to sit and visit under gorgeous oak trees. Coffee shop to rest in and people watch. Delicious places to eat. We will definitely want to return to the area and bring our hubbies. The people here are fabulous! New Orleans... More

There are numerous shops in the old town area featuring clothing boutiques, hair salons, antiques, general store, restaurants, etc. Personally, I would prefer more antique/resale type shops.

Start at the Welcome Center. We had a 45 minute FREE tour of the town at 11 & 2PM. Giving interesting information from pre-European to the present. The town is preserved to the late 19 and early 19th centuries, do to the shifting of a river and fires along the way. Some great examples of town homes of plantation owners,... More

After walking around we stopped for blue bell ice cream. I got a float & my daughter got butter pecan ice cream. Wife got a coke. We loved the kitchen store. Owner is so cool. She is a Harley riding biker grandma. We talked to her awhile & told her about some of the rally's nearby. She also offers cooking... More

FREE parking is available by Front Street (water). There were plenty of public benches to sit on. I like that. No dislikes to be mentioned.

Wish there was more shopping available, but what is there is great. There is a great little 2-story Antique Store on one of the side streets which has some great stuff in it and is a must see. All shops are nice and fun, the antique stores just happen to be my favorite.
