Wonderful and relaxing experience. House show cases the Old Southern Charm --Beautiful staircase---Oh so "Southern" We ate dinner --which was excellent. Our breaksfast was equally as good. The staff very attentive. This was our second visit to this charming Bed and Breaksfast. We will definitely return again --We live just outside New Orleans and this relaxing drive down Hwy 308... more

July 21st-24th After seeing "Madewood Plantation" up for auction on "Luxury Link" we thought we just couldn't pass it up, and lucky for us we won it ! As soon as we arrived Christine greeted us just outside our car, showed us to our room and then we had the run of the plantation as if it was our own.... more

We were welcome to touch anything we'd like and sit in any room, unlike some of the plantation homes we'd been in. It really was... more

On a rainy, dark night we searched for Madewood. The warm and friendly reception that embraced us inside the noble hallway of historic Madewood was a wonderful example of southern hospitality and Christian fellowship. The splendid and fascinating surroundings were comfortable and welcoming on a grand scale. I cannot praise too highly the kindness and thoughtfulness of the caring staff... more

Staying at Madewood is a gracious experience. The staff, each one of them, was welcoming, helpful, and courteous. The rooms are beautifully furnished with numerous antiques and homey touches such as house plants and matching dressing table accessories. No phones, no tv's, but dinner and breakfast with other guests around an elaborately set table for 12. In the morning we... more

Like visiting the home of friends who just happen to own a plantation in the Louisiana countryside. Gracious setting, convivial atmosphere, where guests gather for breakfast and rejoin in the evening for wine and hors d'oevures and an formally presented dinner. Meals are traditional country cooking, tasty but not gourmet, and the bathrooms are what you'd expect from a mansion... more

My husband and I recently experienced a one night stay at Madewood Plantation. We first had made reservations for the Charlet House but upon arrival found the room not quite to our standards and asked to be moved to the main house. The staff was more than accommodating and gracious. We stayed in this lovely old plantation home's main floor... more
