the gardens are nice, but not what they used to be

Rode the trains trains, lots of empty cages. Cats walk was nice. Food was OK. Gardens were nice. Liked the gators! Monkeys looked sad. Birds were nice too. Rate it 4 stars all... read more

Not worth the time to go. Not the best environment. There weren't a lot of animals to look at. There were a lot of snakes at the time but not roaming animals. Not very well kept at all.

I took a friend and her kids here one recent Sunday as a special treat and the only good thing I can say is that entry tickets are cheap (but not the overpriced boat ride) ... but then they ought to be. It's small, it's not that pretty to look at landscape wise, there aren't many animals and more than... More

This zoo is a little older in some parts but is unbelievable in what a small regional zoo! There are Monkeys, Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh My! Take your children and enjoy the lovely gardens and new splash pad opening next month!

Very nice little zoo. Wasn't overly large. Great area full of Eagles. Never have seen a setup like this where there were multiple Eagles. Hippos were pretty cool too. Want to ride the boat someday. Inexpensive for a family.

After reading reviews, I was not expecting much. There were no signs directing from I-20 so we had to rely on phone GPS. Definitely not in the nicest part of town but we never felt unsafe. The grounds could use a little TLC, but while we were there we saw several employees working with lawn equipment. It's been a very... More

Admission is cheap, and we can see why. This is a VERY small zoo in which many exhibits were empty (or at least appeared to be). Lots of small displays with monkeys and birds. We went on a weekday, so no crowds. Many attractions were closed or closed off as well. They had one bear, one lioness, a couple hippos,... More

We visited this zoo while on a family vacation in March. We have children between 5 and 8 years of age. We were really not expecting much based on the reviews other people left, but were pleasantly surprised! There is a good variety of animals, grounds staff were very friendly and went out of their way to educate the children... More

My bad experience started just outside the zoo. I would NEVER let my wife and kids go there without me being with them. The zoo is not in a very good area. Once inside I wasn't impressed at all. This place needs a lot of tender loving care. I've been to several zoos and this one doesn't even come close.... More

Your concept of zoos will be forever tarnished if you go to this place. I couldn't believe the powers-that-be would allow this zoo to remain open. The animals were dirty and sickly. The grounds were unkempt. I can't think of one good word to say about our experience.
