We went on a tour December 1st, being a bit worried if this would be too cold and whether there would be enough animals to see. Sure, birdlife was low, but that was compensated by the gators and just the scenery (granted it was also a beautiful day with clear sky). Kim, our guide, and his father are very knowledgeable... Granted, we went in November when there isn't as much wildlife, but we chose this to make sure we were totally outside of the hurricane season. We got to meet the legend that is Coerte at his home, but due to ill health he wouldn't be out with us that day. He told us his incredible family history, and how... More

We have been on two tours. One was an air boat and the other a motor boat - both were impressive in their own ways. The motor boat guide - has lived in the area forever and knows all the fauna and flora - was very entertaining and got the alligators to off the logs and to follow us -... More

My friends and me did the tour on Sunday 10th August. It was a beautiful and magical swamp tour, with only the four of us and the guide. Our guide was really passionate, he knows perfectly the swamp area. It was great! It's more than a simple tour, you can learn about the fauna & flora. It's fascinating! During the... More

Who would ever know how alive a swamp is, teaming with animal and bird life. Kim is incredibly knowledgeable about the Atchafalaya and its flora and fauna. It is an educational insight into how beautiful South Louisiana really is. THe best 3 hours one can spend. Highly recommended.

Simply spectacular, up close & personal! The Voohries' make your swamp tour experience very special, & can tailor it for your wants & needs. It's about a 3-hour tour of nature @ it's best - birds nesting with babies, swamp flowers - fauna & flora galore, not to mention 'gators here & there, bug & such, even the Asian carp... More

We did the trip with Coerte on Monday 19th May. The short exhibition at the visitor centre is good and this is where we met Coerte, he knows the swamp area extremely well and took us to spots where we saw Aligator and jumping Carp. Some of the guests on the trip had been staying with Coerte at his bed... More

The highlight of our 2-week trip to Louisiana fell on the second to last day: a three hour swamp tour filled with great information, amazing sights and an astonishing amount of animals. Mr Voorhies and his son Kim picked us up in the Atchafalaya Welcome Center at exit 121 on the I-10. To our surprise we unexpectedly met friends from... More

We enjoyed our swamp tour very much, the guides are very knowledgeable and knew where to go to find gators and beautiful nature. Would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Lafayette, we got some amazing pictures. Book early though, they fill up fast.
