We were lucky enough to visit on a day a charity music festival was taking plus. The icing on the cake was a black pot cook off . We tasted three different Cajun Gumbos - could not get more authentic dishes cooked by local very competitive men. A winner was declared and commiserations were offered to the losers. We left... Reassembled and furnished Acadian properties in a pleasant setting with an overview of local history and demonstrations of craft and music of the time. Our experience was added to by someone visiting her grandmother's house and recalling times spent there. A nice way to spend an hour or so. It is worth visiting the nearby Acadian Cultural Centre first to... More

This is like a smaller version of Colonial Williamsburg. It is a good recreation of life here in the past. The guides and "residents" of the village were well informed and presented it in a good way.

This was my second time to come here. If you want to learn about Acadian life visit this place. IF you don't enjoy history stay at home. Otherwise this is a fun place to come. It is do it yourself, but the descriptions and cards help explain what all you are seeing. There are about 12 major buildings to see.... More

We were very disappointed, and wish we had gone to the other Cajun attraction in Lafayette. This is a do-it-yourself tour, at least on Tuesday when we visited. There were no reenactors and no docents to explain the significance of what we were seeing. Worst of all, however is that this place is not ADA accessible. My mother could only... More

Enjoyed visiting here, but our teenagers were bored quickly. I think it would be great to visit when there's a reenactment or other activity going on as well.

This place won't disappoint! My kids, husband, and I wanted to see more about the life and homestead of the Acadian. This is the perfect place for that!

This was a fun little place to see and we learned a lot. I was there about 15 years ago and then again last summer and it has really been expanded. We'll worth the trip. Take the boat tour. The guides were very enthusiastic, but probably full of it, but it was funa nyway

I like to go there during Christmas, it is so well decorated. Been there plenty of times. It is a great family outing. My granddaughter loves going there. They have booths there that sale food and other items. Its just a great place to see with all the different decorations and lights. I just like the Christmas feeling.

This is a nice little village set up like things were in the 1800's and a history of the Acadian people. While it was educational the grounds could use some work. I don't know if it uses volunteers or if there are park people, someone needs to put a little work into the facility. The area for Veterans was one... More
