Acadian Village is a fantastic place to check out around the Christmas holiday. The festival of lights is unlike anything you've ever seen. However, if you're short on time and can only squeeze in one cultural experience while you're in town, I would check out Vermilionville instead.

This village does a good job to recreate and provide an insight into the heritage and culture of Acadian life. There is a small general store where some souvenirs are sold as well as the tickets to visit the village. There is no restaurant. One can visit several homes, a chapel and a gallery in a residence which showcases paintings,... More

This a nice collection of historic houses, but some of the previous reviews are confusing it with another village museum in Lafayette called Vermilionville. Acadian Village doesn't have a restaurant, costumed docents, or a ferry that you can ride. That is Vermilionville, by the airport. Acadian Village is on the other side of Lafayette and is in the country.

Takes you back in time. The crafts are amazing as you watch the artisans create their magic. Each time we go we learn alittle more, experience what it must have been like over 100 years ago plus. The music and food are wonderful!! A must!

Arrived towards the afternoon and found several school tour groups getting ready to leave. Staff were friendly, but expected more sights to be active (or costumed characters). Is a nice village but younger kids weren't as interested. They did enjoy feeding the fish/turtles and would have been nice to have a playground in the area.

I always like to visit the "Village Acadien". I have been many times with my parents and grandparents and its always fun to hear them say "I remember that". It's also amazing to see how fast we have evolved.

nice place to visit at Christmas season. Lots of lights and a street fair. You can walk the entire place. Old historical houses with articles that were used at the time. Even an old church on the grounds. You can buy snacks there and be entertained by local groups singing and playing etc

Acadian Village is open year round, but our last visit was in early December 2014 to see the Noel Acadien au Village. It was so beautiful!! Very romantic, also family friendly for both young children and teens. Every front porch is a photo op. In addition to the pretty lights, there was also a small mid-way for young children. It...
