My son and I visited Acadian Village hoping for an authentic cajun experience. This place did not disappoint. Many of the buildings are original cajun structures that were relocated to this village, and those that aren't original are well done reconstructions. In each building, you will find a costumed guide who will explain how the cajun lifestyle. There was a... More

nice place to visit at Christmas season. Lots of lights and a street fair. You can walk the entire place. Old historical houses with articles that were used at the time. Even an old church on the grounds. You can buy snacks there and be entertained by local groups singing and playing etc

Acadian Village is open year round, but our last visit was in early December 2014 to see the Noel Acadien au Village. It was so beautiful!! Very romantic, also family friendly for both young children and teens. Every front porch is a photo op. In addition to the pretty lights, there was also a small mid-way for young children. It... You get the feeling that this is as authentic of old Acadia as it could get. The houses are lined up in a village like setting. I always love going here. Especially for Christmas.

Really interesting to people not familiar with the local culture and have a better initial understanding. Can be very different from the rest of the US which the general tourist (especially international, like myself) know better.

We enjoyed sitting in the pavilion and listening to Cajun music before walking the village. It was very interesting to go in each house. The place is very well maintained. Don't miss the ferry!

We often go for special events and always enjoy the visit. If you haven't been or haven't been to Lafayette, give it a shot...any time you are here

Acadian Village has some lovely old buildings and may be very nice during special events, but if you're deciding whether to visit here or Vermilionville, go to Vermilionville. Acadian Village is more rundown, and there are many badly neglected collections of "stuff" in the houses with no explanation. This was our only visit, but it seemed like it hasn't been... More

We try and make it out to Acadian Village each Christmas for the lights. This year it was very nice. Try and make it during the week and early in the evening, as to avoid the big crowds. I would suggest this to any family.

Great place to walk around and see the lights for Christmas time and some original homes that date back to the early 1800's. Have patience because there is a lot of people on the pathways.
