The Village used to be out of the way. An interesting ride to the country to take kids at Christmas time or to attend a political rally. The way Lafayette has grown, the tentacles of the city now surround it. That is one reason alone to visit. Once was a time our ancestors lived in communities just like this. While... More

My last visit was near Christmas. They put out a large light show and Christmas celebration. They have a few small fair rides geared towards the little ones. There are pageants and Cajuns always celebrate with great food. Proceeds go to charity. Other times in the past I have visited Acadian Village just to tour the antique houses. I have... More

A nice place to take children and adults alike to share the experience of the Acadians (Cajuns) of times past.

It was interesting seeing the different homes from different areas of the state and learning some of the history we read on the displays. It was very peaceful... More

Want to see old cajan life, this is a good place to spend some time. Kid friendly and kept my children attention even though they had to walk.

This place has so many interesting things from the cultural beginnings to the farm equipment they used. Lots of history of these people who made a life for themselves in this area.

This is a very nice reconstructed acadian village. you can do a selfguided tour or a guided our. The community supports work programs for developmentally disabled adults. There are two in the area, but I recommend this one.

I am an officiant and I have performed several weddings in the Chapel there. The chapel is quaint, the grounds are beautifully kept. So much culture and beauty here!
