I speak from a great deal of experience as I attended the Catholic school next to this cathedral from the 3rd grade through the 12th grade. In high school I was an altar boy at this church which is the home of the bishop of the Lafayette diocese. Many of my family members are buried in the cemetery behind the... More

The church is beautiful and the 100 year-old oak tree on the property is just as amazing!! This is a must-see during Christmas season as the whole church is dedicated instead of just the altar!

A deeply spiritual place. Beautiful and quiet place to contemplate life and to take refuge from the busy city outside.

I brought a friend from France to visit the cathedral. Coming from a land of beautiful churches he was still impressed. As an added bonus, the organist was practicing the day we visited!

I was in the area and decided to go to a Saturday mass. This magnificent church is tucked in the heart of Lafayette. The architecture and lanscape are so pleasing to the eye. Walking on the grounds of this property will give you a feeling of serenity. The 500 year old oak tree is a great attraction that comes with... More

We went to see the cathedral, the old cemetary behind it, and the magnificent oak tree adjacent to the cathedral. That tree is a treasure, with sprawling branches that reach out and invite you to enjoy the shade on a hot June morning.
