Let me preface this by saying, I did not attend this tour. I had called the day before and reserved a spot and camped close by. When we arrived, a store attendant told us he didn't think Guidry was going out and we better call him. It had rained the night before but the morning looked beautiful and promising. Upon... More

This is a great relaxing two hours in the swamp of southern Louisiana. A covered large "party barge" trolls the fresh water swamp while Mr. Black points out the local wildlife, flora and fauna. He has a wealth of knowledge about the area and provides interesting and humorous commentary. Mr. Black sang and played Cajun music to the delight of... More

We chose this tour b/c the day was stormy and a covered boat seemed like the best option. We saw TONS of alligators! So many we lost count! The guide, Black, also called down a bald eagle! He was knowledgable and the musical part of the tour was more entertaining than I expected.

We had originally scheduled with another swamp tour but our b&b host said Mr.Black was the besr. For $25/person it was a great deal. Start to finish was about 2 hours. Saw swamp, 5 alligators and learned about the oil rigs and gator hunting. He stopped and played his guitar and sang some Cajun music. Slow paced tour but kinda... More

My sister and I went on this trip on 11th April. We were incredibly lucky as we just turned up at 9.50 and it was due to set off at 10am. A lot of the people on the cruise were French so he did the commentary in both languages; which meant both groups got the benefit of his wit and... More

We spent a couple of wonderful hours cruising the scenic bayou. Saw lots of gators, birds and beautiful scenery. Our guide was a hoot and very knowledgeable about the area. Learned a lot and we were thoroughly entertained.

I love the scenery and wildlife of the swamp. There's nothing like it. The tour itself was ok, guide is pretty knowledgeable. Entertained us with his accordion and guitar, so that was something different. Riding by some of the big tanks from a nearby plant or something kind of took away from the scenery, but other than that, it's a... More

If you don't mind an extremely rude guy catering the tour to a few people on the boat. by all means waste your money on this tour. (Reading the other review where the guy changed the time to accommodate the large group without telling the others shows that he doesn't really care about his customers!) The only positive I can... It isn't very often you meet a man like "Black" Guidry. What a fascinating man. The tour would probably be like any other bayou tour without him. His knowledge of the swamps, bayous and wildlife was amazing. He entertained us by telling some history, playing the handmade accordion, singing Cajun songs and feeding some alligators, one of which was over... More

Great value for money and fantastic tour. Cajun man comes across very dry but will have you laughing all the way round. He has a great relationship with some of the highlights, Gators. They even have a taste for his singing. Not to be missed.
