Visited here for a wedding I was attending. I did not expect there to be more to see than just the wedding. Has a real lovely touch of Scotland, here. A lovely little place.

First time and we were impressed with the history of the place, there was even a guy in kilt and playing bagpipes excellent added to the atmosphere of the place, shops was a little expensive for some things but a really good selection of interesting gifts, clothing and whiskey's, lots of things to photograph and backgrounds for family photo opportunities.... So we went back to the Blacksmiths shop in Gretna almost 21 years after getting married there, this time we had our 9 year old son with us, Like most places we paid to get in and it bought back memories for my wife as you could see her start crying hopefully in joy not regrets ! The reality of this place was completely at odds with my idea of the runaway marriage location of historical romance novels. It was a busy tourist stop for purchasing scarves, hats, vacation keepsakes. It had a huge bathroom facility so the place must be very crowded in their high season.

We visited this attraction in March 2015. Unfortunately, because the "Summer Season" had not yet started it was very quiet. It is a very interesting little place but we were disappointed to find The Anvil appears to have been moved into the Cottage. Shops OK but rather expensive for the 'close season' café a little on the pricey side. Seems... More

Very enlightening look into by-gone days. It's part of a local historical complex, including the Louisiana Fire Museum..

Very cute place and their restaurant had decently priced food that was pretty good. It was quick service so you don't have to spend most of your time trying to eat.

you can feel the charm of grenta green and the blacksmiths shop adds to it! the shops offer a wide range of goods and different to what you see in everyday shops. maybe be overpriced but then if its something you want its probably not!!! defitatly worth a visit and somewhere to go back to.
