We were passing through the area and we stopped first thing on a weekday morning to take a tour. At first, we were only going to do the gardens outside but for an extra $9/adult, we decided to do the inside of the house tour too. It was worth it! We were the only ones first thing in the morning... More

This is not my first visit here, and I still think the plantation is very worthwhile! The tour guide Sandy was very knowledgeable and entertaining and the home, grounds, and history are excellent!

What sets this tour out from others is that you can touch things in the house because the house is privately owned. The tour guides are knowledgeable and the staff exemplify hospitality. If you go on a tour see about getting Judy as your tour guide she is the best.

Worth the $24 per person tour. Nice gift shop and the grounds are kept up to high standards. A little further than some of the other plantations, but worth the drive. The tour guide came dressed in a period costume and did a great job in explaining the history of the property.

This plantation tour is well worth your time and money. Our historical expert, Susan Saye, was a wealth of information and extremely charming. She did an excellent job of giving us a timeline of the sugar plantation and the various owners. The mansion has been through a lot but has come out on top! Make it a must-see when touring... More

This is a beautiful plantation. The owner has done an awesome job restoring the house and the grounds. Our tour guide was great. She took us through the house and explained all the quirks about southern life and showed us the interesting pieces of artwork and antiques that the owner has collected. Being from Savannah and history buffs we were... More

This one-time landmark is nothing more than a money making operation. Our guide (who was horrible) spent her time bragging about the current owner, his coffee business, the way he has opened restaurants on property, built "cottages" (a term she snubbed her nose at) and developed a wedding business. Nobody visits this house to hear how the current owner is... More

I am so sorry that you experienced the tour that you received. It is not the tour that our guides are supposed to give. Our tour is of the Architecture, furniture and art collection, and the lifestyles of the Sugar Barons of the early 1800's. I do not want the tour to be about me, and your tour was not... More

Sandy and her charming little self was a fun guide through the gorgeous old mansion. It was interesting to see the craftsmanship and imagine life as it was and see it as it currently is. Well worth the trip! Be sure and ask her about her ghostly experiences!

First time at a planation, expected more. Per reviews this was the best one. House looks huge from the outside, small inside. Came in December, too much Christmas decorations, didn't come to see that. Our tour guide,Sandy was wonderful. Didn't have time to spend in the gardens, can not comment on that. Admission price is to much my opinion.

It is the furtherest Plantation that is advertised of the River Road Plantations. It's about an hour outside of New Orleands. It is privately owned. The grounds are beaufitul. The tour was very educational and informative. They have rooms you could stay at if you wanted and a couple of options for food. It is interesting to compare this planation... More
