Love, Love, Love! This place is beautiful and well maintained. It brings you back to the past and I love the history they display. Wonderful place to visit.

I have visited many plantation homes but this one is the best one ever! Not only are the grounds and home absolutely stunning but they allow you to take pictures inside the house and (brace yourself!) they actually encourage you to touch anything you'd like to. My husband and I were the only ones in our tour group that day...

This Plantation brought us back to another time. The tour was truly fabulous, our tour guide, Miss Judy, was fantastic. The art, gardens and architecture are beautiful. We also enjoyed a lovely Lunch in one of the restaurants; it's worth the trip.
yes the grounds are beautiful. there's so much to see, ponds, statues, trees, flowers, etc. it does take a while, in which we were in a time crunch, so we kind of rushed. wished we hadn't. we didn't take the house tour either. next time i will definitely take my time in visiting any plantations.
We enjoyed the large selection of choices. Particularly enjoyed curried pumpkin bisque, grilled chicken and grillades. Very pretty environment with lots of places to take pictures. Our Mom loved it!
Save plenty of time for this house and gardens because you will not want to hurry. The grounds are magnificent. Beautiful trees, statues, water gardens, flowers and more. The tour is fantastic and if your tour guide is Susan, then you will definitely enjoy a fun and educational tour. Pictures are allowed in the house so bring your camera!
We stayed one night in the cottage on the grounds of Houmas house, it was fab. The gardens and house are well worth a trip. We loved the guided tour around the house, she had a great sense of humour and a great well of information about the property. We loved our stay in Houmas House, the only downside was...

On our road trip across Louisiana we came across this House and decided to make a quick stop and we were so glad we did. The house is still privately owned but the own opens the doors to the public and allows you to walk the house and actually touch/use the artefacts, this is no Biltmore with everything behind plastic....

The grounds and the house itself were beautiful but the best part of our visit was our guide. She had a good sense of humor and clearly enjoyed what she was doing. She was in no hurry to get us thru the house and her tour was just plain fun, a very different and refreshing take on (21st century) ladies...

I always go there when i have a business lunch in the Geismar area. It is great to walk through the gardens before getting to the old barn restaurant. The food is very good with a touch of cajun and produces that locally available. Great service too ! I love it.
