Houma's House has the most beautiful grounds and landscaping of any anti-bellum home in Louisiana! Each year I return and more wonderful features have been added.

We took the house tour having seen three other plantations earlier that day. Houmos was nice in part due to the lack of crowds found at Laura and Oak Alley. The house is just as grand as any other and the gardens clearly a labor of love. Our guide showed us a photo clearly showing that before development at the... More

This was a real treat. We had lunch which was very good and then did the house tour. It was extremely well done. If you are in the area take some time out a give Houmas House a visit

We love Houmas House, we made our third trip there and learn more each time. The gardens are fabulous. The home brings you back to an era long gone in its grace and beauty. One of the finest plantation tours. My ten year old grandson was intrigued. This tour is a must!

I visit Houmas House often but found new attractions this time. They have of all things, a Civil War era submarine on display and a Japanese Garden! Houmas House is an ever-evolving labor of love.

We always bring our guest to Houmas House. The surrounding ground is amazing. It never fails to impress our guests. The restaurant serves good and Louisiana food.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because we didn't see the whole thing. We only toured the gardens which was $10 each but worth the money. We didn't tour the house because I am handicapped and would be able to see much of it anyway. The garden are quit beautiful with a variety of vegetation, lovely... More

Let me start by saying that this tour was fun and interesting. The grounds themselves are stunning, and there is a lot of interesting things that I learned while on the tour of the old mansion. The history of the building is mainly all they tell you but they left out all of the history of slavery. I thought this... More

The planation and tour has to be the best of the tour we have taken. The history as presented by our period-clad guide was detailed and enriching. Other tours we good, notably Oak Alley and Nottaway being the best of the rest, but Houmas House is in a class by itself. The grounds were the best kept and the gardens... More

A nice day trip for me living in Baton Rouge. Great gift shop, beautiful gardens (bring your camera) and delicious drinks and food in their restaurant. Since we were celebrating a birthday and having lunch on my first visit, I've not be able to take a tour of the house yet, but plan to do that on my next visit.
