Maison Madeline B&B is @ beautiful Lake Martin. It was the perfect place to have a Pre-wedding party for about 150 people. 6 of the hosts stayed in this true acadien style home, to prepare for the fete. While Madeline Cenac, our gracious host, offered everything we needed, to make sure we were fed and comfortable during our party preps.... More

We had a great two hours travelling around every part of the swamp. Vast amount of wildlife on show. The guide was very knowledgable about all the wildlife and we even managed to hold a baby gator. Great value tour for only twenty dollars. Make sure you wear sunscreen as its gets very hot in the swamp. More

yes, you can walk around the levee around this bird rookery ...... but the best view and experience is to be had by boat. I have been out several times with visitors ... and Butch has never failed to be an amazingly informed guide. think it is Butch Gautreaux of Cajun Swamp tours http://www.cajuncountryswamptours.com/ this is a tour into a... Nice two hour tour in a comfortable well built boat. Bryan Champagne was born and bred on Lake Martin and has wonderful history, as well as knowledge of the flora and fauna. Unbelievably - NO MOSQUITOS. Beautiful birds and swamp trees and plants. Of course, there are alligators. More

We went kayaking on Lake Martin with a small company called Bayou Teche Experience, run by a man named Cory. We did his 4 hour tour, and although it is $100 per person (which includes transportation and kayak rental), the tour guide is a very knowledgeable local ecologist and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Kayaking is a great way to see... More

This is a delightful small lake (well - 7 miles round, apparently) where we walked most mornings. There are canoes and bikes for hire and lots of people fish here. We saw turtles, great white egrets and great blue herons on our walks - and there's a great boardwalk at the Cypress Island end, so you can walk out 'over'... More
