We took a 2 hour swamp tour into lake and swamp. Our guide was Bob who knew lots of facts about the birds, reptiles, plants and animals of the area. Our guide took us nice and slow so we got to soak up the atmosphere as well as see lots of birds.

The beauty of this place can't be captured on pictures. We are from Baton Rouge. Whenever we have out of state visitors, we always take them here to see how beautiful south Louisiana can be. The heron rookery is spectacular in the spring. In the winter, an eagle is nesting there too! Something for everyone, young and old.

Lake Martin is amazing! I don't think you can get the full experience unless you tour it by boat. We did a swamp tour and it was worth it! Lots of wildlife and beauty to see! Many, many birds!

My family took a swamp tour of about 2 hours. We were amazed at the beautiful cypress trees, Lotus flowers with 12"dia. blooms covering the water and the Moss draped from the trees. We Seen several different birds and was lucky enough to see 2 large owls side by side on a cyprus limb. We also saw 14 alligators, some... More

You must go on swamp tour with Norbert LeBlanc. He is so entertaining and tells great stories on his tour. Beautiful scenery.

Loved the lazy gators, the regal herons, little turtles, and all that moss dripping off the trees. We went with Mr LeBlanc a genuine Acadian who took us all over the lake and gave us a fascinating insight into local nature and also the lifestyle in this part of Louisiana. Boy, did he have some stories to tell!
