Very clean and the cigarette smoke is not too bad if you go early. Had no problem getting drinks while playing. Good selection of slots but dollar slots seem to be tight.

The Casino part is just an average casino with tons of Slot Machines in all sorts of $ range. I'm used to the non-smoking casinos in Colorado, so the chain smoking going on all around was super annoying, but that's a state law thing, not just unique to this casino. We really enjoyed the live horse racing. We didn't even... More

Nice place with plenty of room. Not overly crowded. On weekends very busy and a lot going on. On Mondays thru Wednesday, the buffet is not open and you are able to order off menu. Friendly staff.

Went for this year's Super Derby and its the first time I have gone to the track in close to 15 years or so. Man have things slid downhill in my humble opinion. I was not up top in the VIP area but prefer to mingle with the groundlings and split time in the air-conditioned grandstand. First off, the place... More

Love the horse races and this is a nice track to watch them. Decent food and drink options. We went for the Super Derby and there were several fun activities to go along with the races.

80% of the time that we play at Louisiana Downs we have won but I think this was the worst. Even when it let you get in the bonus it didn't pay you but $2-$4 out of 15 free spends. This was the first time I did not enjoy the casino.

This was the first time I have ever been to a live horse race track. It is a lot of fun and completely free if you want it to be. You can sit outside and see the horses up close and hear them as they race by the finish line or you can sit inside in the cool a/c and... More

If you've never been to a live horse racing event, be sure to check out the Louisiana Downs. It's an exciting time, even if you're not wanting to place bets. The minimums are $1.00, so it can be an inexpensive day if you want it to be. Highly recommend!

My husband is a big horse racing fan but had never been to Louisiana Downs, even though we live in DFW. We bought a new Cadillac and decided it needed a "road test" so we drove to Bossier City for the weekend. We stayed at Springhill Suites right by the racetrack (reviewed separately) and spent Saturday afternoon at the races.... More
