80% of the time that we play at Louisiana Downs we have won but I think this was the worst. Even when it let you get in the bonus it didn't pay you but $2-$4 out of 15 free spends. This was the first time I did not enjoy the casino.

This was the first time I have ever been to a live horse race track. It is a lot of fun and completely free if you want it to be. You can sit outside and see the horses up close and hear them as they race by the finish line or you can sit inside in the cool a/c and... More

If you've never been to a live horse racing event, be sure to check out the Louisiana Downs. It's an exciting time, even if you're not wanting to place bets. The minimums are $1.00, so it can be an inexpensive day if you want it to be. Highly recommend!

My husband is a big horse racing fan but had never been to Louisiana Downs, even though we live in DFW. We bought a new Cadillac and decided it needed a "road test" so we drove to Bossier City for the weekend. We stayed at Springhill Suites right by the racetrack (reviewed separately) and spent Saturday afternoon at the races.... More

I saw the reviews regarding the casino portion on this venue, but the real reason to visit Louisiana Downs is to watch the horse races during race season. We have visited the track off and on for the past 25 years and its improvements since acquired by Harrah's is significant. The lobby is now well laid out and visually inviting,... More

machines didn't pay out well. I forgot my umbrella at one of the machines I was playing on and it wasn't turned into lost and found. The chairs and machines were dirty, holes in the chairs and the machines had ashes, dirt and dust on them.

Too far from everything and extremely tight slots unless you play the minimum; once you raise your bet they shut down tighter than a drum...we did not enjoy going there at all.

We went to play there and had pizza at one of their restaurants. Pizza was good. We were there for more than 45 minutes playing in the casino before anyone came to offer drinks. The slots were also tight and lost a lot of money.

We stayed at Horseshoe and drove over to Louisiana Downs 5/31 and 6/1, to play some comp coupons. The horse races were going on both days. There were a lot of cars in the parking lots, but the casino wasn't crowded. Guess everyone was watching the races. In previous trips they gave you a free meal after earning 30 points... More
