Fun place to visit. You should definitely see a planetarium show when you go. The area around the museum is beautiful. Some of the stuff in the science exhibit needs to be fix as some of the buttons/lights don't work.

Anyone with a student ID gets in free - which is good to know, because this museum is terrible and I would never spend money on this place. It's a wonder that children are inspired to study science at all with museums like this one lying around. Despite saying "SCIENCE" in large letters on the outside of the building, only... More

From the outside the LASM appears to have great potential. The actual product, however, feels incohesive, cheap, and ill-contrived. The bizarre combination of art and "science" comes off as highly incongruous. The art exhibit itself was interesting enough, displaying the fruits of some renowned local artists. The science portion, on the other hand, was supremely disappointing. If I'd paid the... More

This is a nice little museum. I had thought it would have more to share, but it's pretty tiny. Staff were helpful.

Would definitely check out the planetarium show. Not too much other exhibits. The Egypt exhibit is interesting.

My daughter loves to go here and when we don't go for a while, she reminds me about it. There is an iMAX theater inside, traveling exhibits, and great play rooms for almost all ages (my spouse and I play too almost every time we go). There's an interactive science room that is super cool!!!!

A few days ago (8/19/14) I went to this museum and I really enjoyed myself. They had 4 exhibits this time, so not really a huge museum, but nice nonetheless. They have a permanent exhibit that is so much fun to check out, a real mummy! They have it set up so that you walk through a tunnel with cold... More

We went to see the special exhibit of American Brilliant Cut glass which was amazing. This exhibit of silver mounted pieces were among the largest I have ever seen, cut to perfection, and most cased and cut to clear. There was an educational video that accompanied the exhibit. We saw a little of the other exhibits and were not impressed.

We traveled to Baton Rouge to see the American Brilliant Period Cut Glass display. This display included some of the largest pieces of cut glass I have ever seen, and most were adorned with sterling silver. Also included in the display was a vintage movie of artisans actually cutting a piece of glass. The pieces came from local collectors and was... More

An " O.K." attraction..but better for children. There was not much open on a Sunday afternoon, so this was something to do.
