Baton Rouge zoo isn't a huge place and doesn't pretend to be. It is a great few hours with the family, but not too long that the children start acting like animals. Close by, small lines, lots of animals. BR zoo has a lot of attractions that kids like too, not just 20 varieties of one animal.

I recently ran in the annual Baton Rouge Zoo Zoom 5K. Fun, fun, fun. This 5K takes place every August and is attended by both serious and recreational runners. There is also a Fun Run the kiddos. You get a chance to not only run through the zoo property, but you can enjoy passing the exhibits and seeing all the... More

Having been to some of the biggest zoos in the world, from Beijing to San Francisco to Minneapolis to San Diego, I'll tell you right now this is not at their level. But that's okay, go into this zoo with an open heart and realistic expectations and I think you'll enjoy it as much as we did. I took my... More

I went with my son for the Zoo & me. We had a great time. All areas were marked well and safe. The workers were amazing with all the kids.

I took my kids when they were little, now, many years later, they have done amazing things with the zoo. Boo at the Zoo in October is so much fun for the little ones. The tiger exhibit is fantastic..

Unfortunately when we went there was construction going on so we couldn't loop around the zoo. The layout was a little confusing and after walking into a dead end, we had to re-walk the same path we took. The animals made that seem minuscule. It was my 9 month old daughters first zoo trip and she enjoyed all the animals... More

My kids love the zoo here (granted there's not much competition)! If you plan on going to this zoo more than once in a calender year and you have at least 4 people in your family it behooves you to get the honorary keeper package. You and your family then get to come in for free (plus 4 guests) any... More

We didn't get to see the entire zoo because the layout was confusing. We walked and walked to only come to a dead end and had to turn around and walk some more. I was thinking that the path should have taken us to the other animals but it didn't If you go to the left or the right only... More

Very nice zoo outside of Baton Rouge. Many areas of the zoo have been upgraded, and more in progress. Good selection of animals and a nice petting zoo. Would highly recommend. Family fun!
