Description: Owners Neil and Rachel bought a beautiful 30 acre farm near Versailles...
Owners Neil and Rachel bought a beautiful 30 acre farm near Versailles, Kentucky in Woodford County in 1997 and began planting grapes, berries, apples, and peaches in 1998. They named the farm Wildside Farm because of the wild sunflowers and coneflowers that grew in abundance. In addition, the name fit because the farm was initially certified organic until they learned that a minimum of amount of pesticides was needed to keep the fruits healthy. They still use minimal pesticides. Each year they planted more grapes until today they have 5 acres of grapes, two acres of fruit trees and 1.5 acres of berries.Welcome to Wildside Winery your winery near Lexington Kentucky, the airport, and Keeneland racetrack! Neil is the wine maker at Wildside Winery and he loves making new and interesting kinds of wine. These unusual wines are often tricky to make and time consuming. They are often made in small quantities and are usually from fresh local fruit. A short list of the interesting wines are our new Bourbon barrel red wine made with Cabernet, peach mead, fresh strawberry, hard cider, and many other delicious wines. Another special wine is our Port wine. It's aged in Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrels. We found Wildside by accident while driving along the Blue Grass Parkway and had a great time. They have a great variety of dessert wines and fortified wines, and also have a notable bourbon barrel red (the barrels are from Woodford Reserve right down the street). Tasting room is nice but nothing special. They have a large back room that... More

During our week long tour of bourbon distilleries, we took a side trip to Wildside Winery. Each of us tried a flight of 6 glasses of different wines at a reasonable price. We prefer drier wines, so we stayed away from the sweeter wines. All were excellent except the Seyval Blanc. Our host, Christina Gora, was as hospitable and charming... More

Based on the good reviews it has received, we actually drove about twenty minutes out of our way to try Wildside Winery. Although small, it is cute on the inside with decorations and hanging lights. We arrived around 12:30 on a Saturday, and no one was there except for a table with six girls and one lady checking out at... More

We stopped here when we saw a sign for it off the highway while touring the Bourbon Trail. Its a small place with a number of wines to sample (the flights were fun). The staff were very friendly and warm. Enjoyable and worth stopping by.

Enjoyed wine tasting inside then bought a bottle and sat outside on the deck overlooking farmland. There were only a handful of people there (plus one cat) so it was very quiet and relaxing. The staff was very friendly.

This is an excellent winery located in rural Kentucky - rural Kentucky equals narrow roads - and one well worth the visit to. A full wine tasting of 8 wines will cost you $6.00 per person. It is well worth the charge as the samples are generous. We were able to talk with the owners and you can tell they... More

We had a great wine tasting here and enjoyed some cheese and crackers along with about 8 types of wine. Of course we bought a bottle of our favorite. This winery has a fruit wine made from the paw paw which we did not get to taste. But maybe next time? We hope to go back someday.

Small family winery. Pick a table or bar stool and make your 8 selections from a list of about 20 to taste. Only $3 for the 8 tastings! Great variety and all were good. Friendly staff.
