We were passing through Paducah and had just planned to visit the nearby Quilt Museum. We parked downtown in a convenient and free parking area that happened to be just across the street from the Floodwall Murals. It was an unexpected and pleasant surprise to see these enormous and beautiful works of art depicting the history of the town, complete... More

I personally wouldn't come to Paducah just to see them but if you're in town they are definitely worth a look. Most tell the history of Paducah in pictures. They are very detailed and definitely added some beauty to down town.

These murals show the history of Paducah in a unique and beautiful way. Located in downtown Paducah on the flood wall that protects Paducah from the Ohio river when it is at flood stage. These murals have transformed the concrete walls into a very popular tourist attraction.

The Flood Wall Murals are, indeed, a pictorial history of Paducah, Ky. The Wall itself is it's own history having been erected following the devastating Ohio River Flood of 1937. Located at the foot of Broadway, you will go through our restored Historic Downtown to reach the Murals. So worth your time.

The murals on the flood wall next to the river reflect the rich history of the Paducah area. They are colorful, have good artwork and are very pleasing to look at.

The murals were beautifully done and the stories were educational. They are situated near the downtown as well and it was convenient to walk around and see the shops and buildings as well.

These are life-sized murals depicting Paducah's history on the Ohio River floodwall (river behind the floodwall). A parking lot is across the street, public restrooms are at the north end, and a sidewalk runs the length of most of the murals. A marker in front of each mural explains it so you can take as much time as you want.

The murals traced the history of Paducah and are a result of the flood of 1937. So out of that tragedy came these amazing murals. My favorite murals: the frozen river with people skating and driving on the frozen river, and the one showing the stern-wheeler boats that were on the river.
