There are quite a few murals painted on segments of the floodwall documenting the history of Paducah & the Purchase area. All are very well executed. Over the years they've continued to add to the segments painted so even if you've been here once it's worth a repeat trip. Very safe & super easy parking access

I go annually to see what is added to the murals, and it is fun to see how we can take pictures of family in front of them, they are very creative. AND all is right in front to the River Front, and it's downtown Paducah with shopping and historic land marks

Ate dinner in downtown area and walked by the flood walls. Very cool paintings near a bunch of shops and places to eat. Water on the other side of the flood walls. Pretty cool little quaint town.

The murals span at least three city blocks along the river, each telling a little of the town's wonderful history. Great for starting a conversation.

The murals depict the history of the Paducah with emphasis on the importance of the location in relationship to river commerce and travel. Very well done.

This is a total MUST to see....even if making a special trip to Paducah to see it. We were not expecting this so it was a total bonus for us.

In three city blocks of Water Street dozens of panels on the floodwall banner pivotal events, economies, enterprises, accomplishments and significant people of Paducah. The Chickasaw Indians to George Rogers Clark and his brother William (who planned and plotted the streets even as they are today) to the development of a river trade, a civil war fort, three disastrous floods... Despite the rain, we did get to see the floodwall murals. We visited a couple of weeks after the Ohio River flooded, and even while we were in Paducah, the river was flooded. You could walk in front of the murals and see them, but we couldn't walk down on the river walk as the river was still flooded. Next... More

Paducah's floodwall murals tell the story of the city and the river in words and pictures. It's a nice easy walk (or a slow car ride), and there's an Illinois Central steam locomotive, RPO car and caboose to take in at the east end. The floodwall is definitely worth a stop.
