The lady was very friendly and quite helpful. As our luck had brought rain we did spend a long time here waiting for the rain to stop. We were hoping to catch the trolley here but due to weather it was not running.

More that a Welcome Centre, this grand old home has been perfectly restored and decorated. Lots of Barkley memorabilia and plenty of interesting things to read about. Clean restrooms, lots tourist information and happy help to set you right.

We had a private tour by a very knowledgeable docent. This gorgeous house was abandoned and slated to be destroyed but citizens united and renovated a disaster back into a glorious home. Great history lesson.

Well worth the stop. We were given a tour of the house and the room upstairs dedicated to Vice President Alben was impressive. A lot of time and dedication went in to restoring this home!

Sometimes, somethig will take you by complete surprise: this is the case with the beauiful, restored rest stop, exit 7 on Interstate 24. White haven is not only a rest stop with the most beautifully clean/kept bathrooms I've ever seen, but it is also a Welcome Center in an restored mansion. Phyllis Geoge was the First Lady of Kentucky when... More

Restrooms were clean, which is very important to me. Building is a historical location which adds something to the location. Outside was very well maintained. They had brochures for surrounding activities.

Not at all typical of your State rest stops, check this one out as you pass through Paducah, Ky. It is in a completely renewed old mansion type of home with all modern conveniences and a joy to just tour through as you refresh on your trip. History on display and friendly roadside help, directions and travel suggestions for the... More

Beautiful, especially at Christmas when they open it up more for viewing. So Lovely and well cared for. Thanks to all the volunteers who help sustain it. Made a special trip just to visit and was not disappointed. Add Patti's Settlement o the weekend and it can't be beat.

It seems a little crazy to review a public rest area, but this one is amazing. It is off I-24, and reasonably easy to get to. This is a rescued historical classic revival style home, and was restored a couple of decades ago after abandonment, neglect, and squatter damage. It is always very neat and clean! The bathrooms are constantly... More

This is possibly the most beautiful rest area in America. A refurbished antebellum Southern colonial mansion. A museum honoring Paducah son Alben Barkley upstairs. Always clean bathrooms...vending machines. near many gas stations, medical care, and fastfood restaurants off I24. Fresh flower arrangements in the ladies room last time I stopped. A nice place to enjoy a picnic lunch on a... More
