This home was once the Mayors residence. It is now a KY welcome center. It worth a stop . We were here Nov 20, 2015 and they were just decorating for Christmas so we were not allowed to wander through the home but we intend to go back in a few days to see what they did. There is a... More

Historical, beautiful welcome center. Don't just stop for information; take the tour. Note the interesting mirror.

On our way home from Florida to Illinois, and in terrible need of a "Rest Area", we were directed by the signage to your lovely White Haven Visitor's Center. As it was terribly late, the home wasn't staffed, however the restrooms, as the rest of the area were beautiful and clean. We took a few moments to take in the... More

Worth a stop if you here around the Christmas season particularly! When I was a young adult this house looked like a haunted mansion. Thanks to John Y Brown becoming our KY governor several years ago now, his wife, Phyllis George Brown, saw this place and convinced the state to sink some money into restoring it and making it a... This is one of the nicest historical travel stops anywhere in the nation. Beautifully restored. Lots of info available and nice clean rest rooms.

A beautiful mansion, lovingly restored, in a surprising role as a Welcome Center for the equally surprising city of Paducah, KY. Worth a visit.

So disappointed....We scheduled time to tour the Welcome Center. Unfortunately because of the Obama cuts the place was closed.

If you happen upon our little town during the holidays, stop by Whitehaven. Local groups decorate each of the rooms. They are lovely. Be sure to ask for a tour--the ladies and gents at the front desk are very sweet and extremely knowledgeable. I live in this town and yet I've been to Whitehaven at least 3 or 4 times.... More

White Haven is the most beautiful & unique Welcome Centers/Rest areas I've ever visited & I've seen many across this country. When I was young, it was a derelict, tumble-down old plantation house. 30+ years ago a dedicated group of local folks began the process for converting it to the beautiful 1800's home we see today. It is meticulously maintained,... More
