Beautiful antebellum home that was in a state of terrible decay transformed into a visitors center. To truly appreciate the restoration, one would have had to have seen White Haven beforehand. Literally in shambles, it was a tragic sight. I can remember passing it while traveling and my mother would always say what a shame it was to let such... More

I just love this welcome center. A piece of history. We stop in on every trip we make through the area.

It is hard to calculate how many times we have stopped at Whitehaven. Even though we have been there several times, each time it seems to beckon us.

This is technically a 'rest stop' but unlike any other. The restored mansion is a gem. Well worth the time and tour.

This may be an awesome side trip for the family on vacation but a pain for the traveler trying to get somewhere. For a quick rest stop a gas station would be faster.

It was a little anticlimactic after reading all the 5 star reviews. It's definitely cuter than the standard rest stop, but most of the house had a gate blocking you from viewing the historic areas. The gardens were pretty but I'd call it more just standard landscaping around the house. Happy to stop by the welcome Kentucky sign for a... More

The lady was very friendly and quite helpful. As our luck had brought rain we did spend a long time here waiting for the rain to stop. We were hoping to catch the trolley here but due to weather it was not running.

More that a Welcome Centre, this grand old home has been perfectly restored and decorated. Lots of Barkley memorabilia and plenty of interesting things to read about. Clean restrooms, lots tourist information and happy help to set you right.

We had a private tour by a very knowledgeable docent. This gorgeous house was abandoned and slated to be destroyed but citizens united and renovated a disaster back into a glorious home. Great history lesson.
