I live in Paducah. I was a teenager this was a really creepy mansion that we all knew as a haunted house. There is no way to describe what awful shape this place was in. The last owners actually kept horses in it. Now it is rebuilt in it's glory and used as a rest stop. One part is restrooms... More

This is a beautifully restored southern mansion that has been transformed into a Kentucky Visitors center as you enter KY on Exit 4, I-24. It's well worth a few minutes of your time to stop by, take a break and enjoy seeing the beautiful restoration.

We were on our way from Iowa to Georgia and chose Paducah to spend the night in. We stopped at Whitehaven and it was absolutely beautiful.

I always enjoy stopping here to use the bathroom and grab some updated tourism info. Everyone is amazed on their first visit - a real live historic home open as a rest area! One day I hope to time my visit for the free tour. Stop by whether or not you "need to."

Whitehaven is the perfect stop for maps, brochures, and information for the whole state of Kentucky. Nice restrooms and helpful staff. Sit for a spell on the wide front porch in the rockers.

Although a rest area, this is a wonderful history spot. Learn about the area. The employees are very friendly and helpful.

This is probably the most awesome rest area that I have ever been to! I have been there several times and it is always clean! Also, at certain times of the day they have tours of this historical mansion...FOR FREE! Overall great place to visit!

This is a very beautiful building. Go inside for brochure and pamphlets about the area. Ask for information if you need it and if you are lucky you may just be in time to take a tour of the building. Watch out for buses though. It can get crowded inside the building.
