This was our last stop on our way out of town on our spur-of-the-moment Lexington wine trail trip. It was nicely situated among the rolling horse farms of Lexington. It was very crowded on Sunday, July 5th around 1. I mean, I know that's prime wine-tasting time, but they should've been staffed more appropriately as we had to stand around... More

On the recommendation of some people we met in Bardstown, we made our way to Equus Run Vineyards. I know - a vineyard in Kentucky? Well, yes indeed, and they make some very nice wines. We sampled a number of red and whites, and settled on a bottle of Oak Chardonnay and the “Passionate Kiss” – a desert wine of... More

Beautiful Kentucky Sunday tasting wine, listening to music outside, and having a picnic in a delightful setting! Busy at the tasting counters but no crowd to fight...just a relaxing experience! Greg was behind one of the tasting counters and he provided great service and attention. Great day!

We happened to arrive on a day they were doing construction of an addition which diminished the normally peaceful setting for a bottle of wine. The wine is varied and good. The staff is friendly and attentive even though they were so busy we could barely get a spot at the tasting bar. (They do need the above mentioned addition).

We had the pleasure of visiting the winery last year on our return to Texas from Virginia. This was our first visit, but not the last. We made sure our return route included Midway, Virginia, and of course Equus Run. Leslee is an amazing host and made our wine tasting quite an adventure. The wines are very high quality wines... The wife and I have spent many summer Sunday afternoons at Equus Run. Always great music and wine. You can bring a packed picnic basket or cheese and crackers, sit at a table or bring your own chairs and sit on the lawn. Everything goes!

The title says it all. The wines are quite good. In general, the tannins are low, and the wines are a bit sweeter than normal, They have a chocolate infused dessert red wine that you will want to take home for special occasions. The wine tasting was very nice and well done. The people were very friendly.

We made this stop just to visit the winery and had never heard of the brand. We were met by a delightful host who did our tasting and educated us on the area. The tasting was $5 each and included the glass. The cabernet was amazing but all wines were really high quality wines. The vineyard was beautiful, make the... More

If you want to enjoy delicious local Kentucky wine, this is a great place to stop. Just off I-64 near Midway, KY. They have a very nice tasting room and for $2 you can taste 6 different wines of your choice from a selection of both red and white. You can also join their wine club. They have a release... More

Equus Run is a both a winery and vineyard. The wine they make is delicious! Getting to the winery is half the fun. The serene beauty of the surrounding area is just breathtaking. Stone fences, horse farms and creeks make for a wonderful drive. Once at Equus Run, you can experience wonderful wines. The taste is 6 for $5 and... More
