After shopping and lunch in Midway we decided to drive a couple of miles at check out this winery. Very nice small winery off the beaten path. The tasting room was full when we arrived. One of the staff took us to the side, explained the process then offered to seat us outside to wait for a place at the... More

the location is fabulous and the events are great. Unfortunately the wine is only passable. Hey in KY we are known for bourbon, bluegrass and blue ribbon horse racing.

In one year this place has doubled in size. Free wine tastings, up to 6 different wines. You get to pick which 6 you want to taste. There is a small patio that you can picnic at. The grounds are pretty and weddings are held in the gardens. The wine is about $16.00 a bottle an less if you buy... More

Most east of the Mississippi wine in America is so sweet it might as well be Kool-Aide. Not Equus Run. Equus Run makes legit wine. I'm a wine club member, I live in PA so they legally can't ship to me, but I'm committed to visiting at least once a year, that's how good it is. Official Kentucky Derby artwork... More

We stopped at this winery and vineyard on our way back from a trip to Midway Ky for antiques and fun in an old early american town. We were very pleased with our stop even though we had never heard of the winery/vineyards. The young lady doing the tasting was so pleasant and made us feel so welcome. We did... More

Great winery! Down a quiet road next to a creek with lots of trees. Wonderful wines! Staff was engaging and fun! Beautiful garden grounds.

I stopped by again this year to this quaint little boutique winery and fell in love with it again. They are in the process of finishing the newly enlarged tasting room (which was badly needed), and was greeted promptly by their employees. The room was a little busy, but we didn't have to wait too long. We were sad that... More

We visited Equus Run winery last week upon the suggestion of a friend (he's still our friend, though we won't take any wine suggestions from him). I have never tasted worse wine. The winery is also a venue for music. Thank goodness we weren't there for any of that. We sampled 6 wines for $7, a fair price for something... More

This was our last stop on our way out of town on our spur-of-the-moment Lexington wine trail trip. It was nicely situated among the rolling horse farms of Lexington. It was very crowded on Sunday, July 5th around 1. I mean, I know that's prime wine-tasting time, but they should've been staffed more appropriately as we had to stand around... More

On the recommendation of some people we met in Bardstown, we made our way to Equus Run Vineyards. I know - a vineyard in Kentucky? Well, yes indeed, and they make some very nice wines. We sampled a number of red and whites, and settled on a bottle of Oak Chardonnay and the “Passionate Kiss” – a desert wine of... More
