We stopped at this winery and vineyard on our way back from a trip to Midway Ky for antiques and fun in an old early american town. We were very pleased with our stop even though we had never heard of the winery/vineyards. The young lady doing the tasting was so pleasant and made us feel so welcome. We did... More

Great winery! Down a quiet road next to a creek with lots of trees. Wonderful wines! Staff was engaging and fun! Beautiful garden grounds.

I stopped by again this year to this quaint little boutique winery and fell in love with it again. They are in the process of finishing the newly enlarged tasting room (which was badly needed), and was greeted promptly by their employees. The room was a little busy, but we didn't have to wait too long. We were sad that... More

We visited Equus Run winery last week upon the suggestion of a friend (he's still our friend, though we won't take any wine suggestions from him). I have never tasted worse wine. The winery is also a venue for music. Thank goodness we weren't there for any of that. We sampled 6 wines for $7, a fair price for something... More

This was our last stop on our way out of town on our spur-of-the-moment Lexington wine trail trip. It was nicely situated among the rolling horse farms of Lexington. It was very crowded on Sunday, July 5th around 1. I mean, I know that's prime wine-tasting time, but they should've been staffed more appropriately as we had to stand around... More

On the recommendation of some people we met in Bardstown, we made our way to Equus Run Vineyards. I know - a vineyard in Kentucky? Well, yes indeed, and they make some very nice wines. We sampled a number of red and whites, and settled on a bottle of Oak Chardonnay and the “Passionate Kiss” – a desert wine of... More

Beautiful Kentucky Sunday tasting wine, listening to music outside, and having a picnic in a delightful setting! Busy at the tasting counters but no crowd to fight...just a relaxing experience! Greg was behind one of the tasting counters and he provided great service and attention. Great day!

We happened to arrive on a day they were doing construction of an addition which diminished the normally peaceful setting for a bottle of wine. The wine is varied and good. The staff is friendly and attentive even though they were so busy we could barely get a spot at the tasting bar. (They do need the above mentioned addition).

We had the pleasure of visiting the winery last year on our return to Texas from Virginia. This was our first visit, but not the last. We made sure our return route included Midway, Virginia, and of course Equus Run. Leslee is an amazing host and made our wine tasting quite an adventure. The wines are very high quality wines... The wife and I have spent many summer Sunday afternoons at Equus Run. Always great music and wine. You can bring a packed picnic basket or cheese and crackers, sit at a table or bring your own chairs and sit on the lawn. Everything goes!
