We reserved tickets for the Belle during the evening tour, without the dinner buffet. That was a good choice, because the buffet looked pretty weak. It is an authentic paddleweel boat with a functioning steam organ on it roof. Keep in mind that the Spirit of Jefferson, the Belle's sister ship, is NOT a paddlewheel. We originally called to tour... We went on the Belle of Louisville dinner cruise. It was even better than we expected. The atmosphere, staff and food was perfect! We had fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, Mac & cheese, pasta salad, drinks & dessert. It was a delicious buffet provided by Halls catering. Yummy! What a cool boat and fun time. Thank you! Tips:... More

Went on this boat for the lunch cruise and it was a good experience except it was LOUD. Loud even before getting on the boat. While waiting to board the boat loudly started playing songs with it’s steam horns. That went on for 15 min. After we boarded in the dinning room it was loud music playing during the whole... More

The Belle turns 100 this year and is in pretty good shape for her age! Some repairs are being done, and part of one deck was "taped off", but the boat is beautiful. The calliope was playing (quite loudly!) as we walked to the pier. There s a lunch tour (reservations required) or you can just take the excursion and... More

I wanted to like it so bad, but I just didn't. It was slow and boring and crowded and just blah. The tickets with dinner were sold out, so we purchased just sightseeing and when we checked in, the lady said if someone didn't show up, we can help ourselves to the buffet. When we came down there, the catering... More

I rode the Belle of Louisville on 6/06/14 and had the dinner buffiet which was very good, The beef was delicious. It is one of the most moderately priced dinner cruises that I ever rode.

We booked the dinner cruise and paid extra for window seats. The food was served buffet style. It was well prepared. After we ate, however, we went outside and upstairs to enjoy the view of the river. Staff was very attentive and courteous. It was a nice way to see the river and to enjoy sailing on a steam powered... More

The boat is well maintained and the crew was attentive. The scenery upstream of Louisville is pretty dull which probably explains the virtual absence of commentary. This is more a dinner than a sightseeing cruise. We did not opt for the dinner and so cannot comment on it.

I was very impressed with this with only a few complaints. The food that was brought in was fantastic. Usually catered food is very average at best but this was very, very good. I would eat this at an actually food joint. The customer service was pretty good as well and the view is amazing. I believe they sell too... More

My wife and I were celebrating our 41st anniversary and commemorated it with a dinner cruise aboard the Spirit of Jefferson. The staff in the ticket office and on board were exceptionally helpful and ensured there were no problems. I don't live in Louisville and had to make my arrangements via the internet--arrangements were easy to make. Originally I tried... More
