The city is dedicated to make this a nice clean enjoyable area for families. The area is full of wonderful bike trails and plenty of manicured green grass making it a great place for concerts, fireworks, etc.

It was difficult to find parking. We rented bicycles, but the sidewalks were too crowded to ride. The scenery was less than spectacular. If I want to enjoy the river, I would rather go to Madison, IN

We stopped here while driving through Louisville for a break and to stretch our legs. What a beautiful park! We walked several miles on easily navigated trails that were clean and busy. Wonderful views of the Ohio River and the bridges. We passed a nice play ground for the kids and restrooms. Looks like a great place to play, exercise,... More

I'm puzzled by all the accolades for Louisville's Waterfront Park. We had been led to believe it was a 'happening' place, but it was almost totally deserted at 5:30 pm on a warm September weekday (still well before sunset). Perhaps the park is busier earlier in the day, and on weekends, but we didn't expect it to be THIS quiet.... More

My son-in-law is a landscape architect who, while visiting from Florida, specifically asked if I could bring him here to view with my daughter & their first child. He had read about the park through his trade journals and wanted to view the award-winning design. The park is heavily used all year-round. It has a great play area for the... More

There is tons of stuff to do in Louisville, but when it's hot, it's hard to beat Waterfront Park. It's perfectly designed for kids, with fountains that spray up from the ground at random, with water that repels the heat from above. This is the place to go with one's children or grandchildren. The will love it.

We pulled over and parked on Witherspoon Street in front of the ground water fountains at Louisville Waterfront Park. I walked down the Riverwalk to the end where it meets the Ohio River and looked out at the water and the various bridges in the area. There's plenty of parks all alongside the Ohio River in Louisville, but sadly we... More

Louisville's waterfront keeps getting better. You can do anything from walk, jog, eat, get wet 💦 even rent a tandem bike and tour the downtown. Often there are concerts, art shows or festivals occurring on weekends- it's worth the trip to see this beautiful waterfront.

Used the waterfront park and old river road area for a morning run with my brother in law who lives in downtown near the baseball park. Trails were marked with quarter mile increments. Great vistas of the Ohio river. Several restaurants located at or near the river.
