My favorite part of the zoo was the giraffe exhibit. During our visit two of the giraffes were inside their building which offers an up close and personal view of the giraffes. It was amazing! Everyone knows giraffes are tall, but whoa! This put it all into perspective. The other animal exhibits were great and all of the animals looked... More

You'll go bananas over the monkeys and apes at the Louisville Zoo! We had a great time and we loved all the animals there but I think my favorite is the polar bear exhibit, to be able to watch those Polar Bears play with old empty beer kegs, it was a hoot!

Don't waster your money. Go to Cincinnati or make a trip to St Louis for a free zoo that is awesome!

As a Louisville Zoo member of 25 years plus I have witnessed the tremendous growth of our zoo. The addition of the Gorilla forest years ago was a great boost to the area. The zoo is now renovating the elephant exhibit plus adding a penguin exhibit to the Indonesean Village area in the coming year. The most popular event is... More

I took my family to the zoo one Sunday for a day out. The whole thing is stroller friendly and easy to walk around. It was summer and they had a small water play area for the kids. Most of the animals are active. there is also a train the whole family can ride which takes you around the zoo.... More

Although a small garden, it had beautiful roses, some unique and one that was named after Monty by a hybridizer he knew, named “Monty's Joy”. It turns... More

I'm from the Chicago area and we have Brookfield and Lincoln Park Zoo as a frame of reference so I was really surprised when I took my 5 year old nephew to this zoo for the first time. What a great zoo with a lot of really active animals on display. I don't know how they do it or if... More
