Lots of old houses to look at. Very nice walk, but a little long for some maybe on a hot day. Very pretty and quaint.

This part of town is absolutely beautiful. You do not see this type of craftsmanship anymore. The St. James art fair is really nice if you are in town while that is going on. The only draw back is the surrounding area. If you wander a block or two off of 2nd, 3rd, or 4th streets, the area changes. When... More

Full disclosure: I live here. Start your visit at the Old Louisville Information Center in Central Park. Check the website for hours. There are several walking tours available, including a ghost walk, The St. James Court Art Show is the first Friday-Sunday in October, Shakespeare in the Park (Central Park) runs in June-August, the Old Louisville Holiday House Tour is... As lovers of different architectural styles, we enjoyed driving around the Old Louisville neighborhood. Various Victorian style buildings were very interesting and impressive. Residents on a couple of streets had obviously strived to improve their property and the home looked well maintained. Sad to say many of the streets had not been maintained and looked almost run down. A shame... More

Impressed with the neighborhood and how well kept it was. Just bc it's old doesn't mean has to be run down.

Fridays the info center in Old Louisville (in central park) closes early evening so we missed getting more information because we spent so much time walking from the car to the park. We just couldn't stop enjoying viewing each unique home/apartment. The gas lamps, fountains and buildings are just absolute eye-candy. This was nice and relaxing and bonus -- there... More

When we walked through this lovely park around 2pm in the afternoon on a Saturday it was deserted. Where was everyone? A concrete water fountain spouted water onto a concrete pad but no children were to be seen there or on the playground. The trees were amazing- probably 100+ year old oaks, maples and other species. Signs on the bulletin... More

Town with its own personality!!!! I have collected a great amount of postcards of all these old buildings of this part of town. Great just looking at the designs and all the creativity it took to create all this beautiful area. Was there in 2014

We love historic homes and this was the place. Unfortunately for us, the only tour company and tour guide were not available during the time we were there. We printed a list of the homes, which has some historical information, and did it as a self-guided tour. Beautiful homes and fabulous gardens are well worth the time wandering through this... More
