If you are one who likes to see some of the older architecture, this is a nice drive. They also have an art fair in the area near here that we try to go to annually.

Louisville was once one of the ten largest cities in the US, and gave rise to its own commercial/industrial gentry class who, in turn, built block after block of Victorian-era stone mansions. Old Louisville is, in my experience, a unique collection of houses and streets that offers a strong sense of how that class lived, and of the values that... More

there are not enough words that can aptly describe the beauty of one of the river city's grandest old neighborhoods. The central park was once the sight of a worlds fair, and Thomas Edison introduced electric light to the city of Louisville as the main exhibit. In the summer Old Louisville is host to an annual Shakespeare in the park... More

I walked St James and Belgravia courts on a quiet Saturday morning. Most homes built in the 1890s. Many are well-kept single family, but many are also converted into apartments and looking a little run down. Still, I enjoyed seeing this historic district.

Our self-guided windshield tour of historical Louisville was perfect. The concierge's directions plus guidebook information were most helpful. The architecture ,gardens and diversity of styles made our trip into the historical area so enjoyable.

We walked around St James and Belgravia Court in the light of day, and then took a Haunted Walking Tour later in the evening. What a difference light makes. It was a wonderful day and the homes are just lovely.

Spent several nights in Central Park at the free plays of Shakespeare. Really fun, education, community bonding. Thank you Old Louisville.

We did a drive through the area because of the weather. It would be a great walking tour if you had the time. It's a joy to see that a city kept so many old homes and it was unbelievable at the size of them when considering the time they were built.
