Reminscent of Cleveland, and a cross between Savannah, GA and Milwaukee, WI. Gorgeous turn of the century architecture and large, stately homes on wide avenues. I toured in March. I bet it's absolutely beautiful a month from now during Spring. Given more time, I would take a walking tour. 610 Magnolia is a wonderful dining experience not too far.

Old Louisville is not a safe place to visit as it was in the pass. On South 4th Street there are many thugs, prostitutes, drug pushers hanging out onthe street. At the 100 year old Puritan Hotel now apartments many acoholics and drug dealers hang outside the building. Do walk alone from South 4th Street south ward to the U.of L. campus.... More

I reviewed this fantastic place before, but since then the Visitor's Center has moved from Fourth Street to the middle of Central Park Right in the middle of the neighborhood. Many more homes have been restored and the new visitors center is greatly improved, and even the Old Louisville "App" has been updated. Commenting on the only " less than... More

What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. When you walk around St James Court and Belgrave Court it is like taking a trip back in time. The homes and architecture are outstanding. Bring a camera, you won't be disappointed.

A trip to Louisville definitely deserves a ride through Old Louisville. It has the largest collection of Victorian homes in the country. A beautiful spot in a great town!

We walked in the area in January. Central park was a bit gray. Walking in the neighborhood is nice but few minutes can be enough. It was pretty boring for our kids.

Enjoyed admiring these absolutely beautiful homes on the tree lined streets of old Louisville. Went on the weekend so parking was an issue, but definatly would recommend if you enjoy looking at old style architecture and beauty!

Some of homes are located in Belgravia Court, named after the famous one in London. They were built during the "Guided Age" and went from times of opulescent to decay and rescued back into a renaisancce in the 1980's. The styles are varied and some have interesting histories. Others are located along Saint James Court and Fourth Street. One of... More
