Great variety of eclectic artists in beautiful neighborhood. Just happened to be visiting Louisville that weekend but walked away with a number of unique pieces.

Take a stroll--check out the architectural details. Apparently this is home to a very important art show, but when we visited, it was a quietly fabulous neighborhood.

It's fun to walk around or drive around the neighborhood. The houses are beautiful. But there's no organized tour or info for visitors to know about the area and history of the homes

If you have time to ride (or walk) down 3rd, you will see a beautiful tree lined street with gorgeous brick houses (and businesses). It is a vision of old elegance and worth a detour! If you have time, also drive down Cherokee Parkway in the highlands for another scenic view.

When I entered St, James Court, it was like going back in time. The fountain in the middle of the court is just perfect. The houses are individual and stand as they did 130 years ago. The 1800s live here, and are well cared for and inviting.

This area has over 1,400 victorian homes, most of which have been restored. Pay no attention to the directions for the info center, it does not exist (we spent close to an hour looking for it. This did allow us to see many of the homes however.

The homes, mansions really, were magnificent! Strolling during the early evening or in the am was great fun. Reading about the history of Old Louisville was interesting too!

There are several pretty old homes here, but the experience was not what I expected. The area getting to Old Louisville was run down and we did not feel very safe. Once we got to the area we enjoyed walking the Saint James section. However, being from Richmond, VA, the area does not compare to Monument Ave.

I love Old Louisville! The homes are gorgeous, and it is a very nice stroll. That said, there are some pretty shady parts and not all of the houses are beautiful. Our favorite walk is south on 4th from Ormsby for about three or four blocks, over to 3rd, and back north. I do wish that there were some sort... More
