I've been visiting Cave Hill cemetery all my life and have family buried here. You really get a since of history as you walk or drive. Don't miss Colonel Sanders grave (kfc). I always take plenty of photos no matter what the season. The cemetery is an arboretum as well, so pay attention to the landscaping. Many trees have plaques... More

This cemetery is beautiful and well worth the trip for the history on all of those tombstones. If graves are not your thing, the grounds are beautiful with very mature trees. It is all very well maintained. We spent a great afternoon in the sunshine walking around and loved it.

Obviously a somber location, but significant amount of history here. It is the largest Civil War cemetery. We only took a quick drive through the cemetery, but the number of military graves in the cemetery really makes you appreciate those that were willing to give their lives for what they believed in and what we have today.

So glad we didn't miss seeing this. We drove through in silent awe as we turned each corner and saw yet another beautiful headstone row after row. A place of peace and beauty.

We ALL enjoyed the cemetery, even my nutty zippy kids. It's huge. It's gorgeous. It's full of really nifty monuments, lovely trees, few (live) people, and afterwards you're not far from coffee. Seriously, it's a lovely spot to go walk, be still, think, read, etc. Even if you have busy children with you. There's lots for them to explore and... More

Most people would not consider a cemetery as a tourist attraction - but this one warrants a visit --- rolling hills, and a variety of markers marking the spots for famous and not so famous people. I spent hours in here wandering the hills.... something not to be missed if you have some extra time....

Unfortunately we don't go hear for the beauty or peacefulness, we go to visit loved ones. We are lucky that our loved ones have such a wonderful resting place. It is nice to drive through and see all the lovely old monuments and the geese and lakes. When my son was young his first memory of her was going to... More

Even though this is a cemetery this is a must see place. Absoutley beautiful. Cornel Sanders is buried here. This is well taken care of. My husband and I have been there several times and still have not seen it all.

I read about this cemetery before we came down to Louisville from Indianapolis. I truly loved just the beauty of this place. I was pleased that my teenaged children were just as interested in seeing the sites inside the cemetery. I wish we had more time than just the 45 minutes we had before it closed. Unfortunately we felt a... More
