A cemetery is on anyone's top list of a must visit attraction but Cave Hill is unique in that it's the final resting place for many of Louisville's famous residents (George Roger Clark, Colonel Sanders, etc.) The cemetery itself is beautiful, laid out like a park with beautiful architectures, trees, plants and animals (peacocks!) Come in the spring, you'll see... More

Beautiful grounds. Many soldiers graves. Many monuments and interesting art. You could spend many hours here looking at the headstones. Lots of history here, so take your time. The day I was there they didn't want to let me ride my very silent motorcycle in, so as not to disturb the peace and quiet. I understood that ...they did let... More

Colonel Sanders from KFC is buried here. Seems like an odd place to go sightseeing but the grounds are very pretty and there are a lot of old stones, military graves and just unique statues. Pretty neat place if you have some free time to drive around.

The most eye-opening thing about Cave Hill Cemetary is the size of the detailed monuments erected to some of the dead interred there. The cemetary itself is well kept and, as expected, serene. Although one may not immediately thing of a cemetary when looking for a place to stretch ones leg or sit and think (or sit and NOT think),... More

The cemetery is one of a kind in Louisville, Ky. My nephew was buried there and the staff there has been very personable and attentive to the family's needs. Even if you don't have a friend or loved one buried there, it is worth a visit just to see this gorgeous place. You won't be sorry!

Please keep in mind that I own a cemetery, so I have a different take on cemeteries than most people. Over 300 acres and 200 miles worth of roads to explore. I saw some of the most exquisite grave markers I have ever seen from the full-size bronze statue of a magician to Col. Sanders to average people. The National... More

The grounds are kept up very nicely. There is a lot of history here as the cemetary has been here a long time. It can be a little confusing to get around and pretty easy to get lost.

I have been coming to CHC since I was born to visit relatives, take pictures, explore all the history and always feed the ducks. Love spring time when the ducklings hatch, they will run right up to you and stand on your feet. Highly recommend history tour and photography (with the deepest respect of course, my whole family is laid... More

This cemetery is an art museum, a history museum, a park and a mindful place all in one. I visit frequently to relax and discover.
