One of my favorite places to walk. From the beauty of the unique headstones and monuments to the natural beauty of the trees and flowers, Cave Hill is a great way to spend a few hours. I have been going there since I was a kid and have always enjoyed my time there. If you are interested in famous graves... More

The variety of trees makes this a beautiful place to be any time of year. Children like to feed the ducks at the pond. If you have a chance to take a tour ,it is well worth your time.

The Civil War section was breath taking. Everything was so well maintained and the variety of beautiful mature trees was impressive. A nice place to stop and appreciate our nations history.

Cave Hill is other-worldly on many levels: the natural beauty, the art in memorials, headstones, mausoleums, the landscape -- it all creates a milieu that transports the visitor to another realm. If you've experienced Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah you would be close in understanding the outstanding beauty at Cave Hill. History, landscape, tranquility, art -- this place has it all.

We enjoyed all of the different tombstone and the stories and history behind them. We would recommend that you visit. We spent 2 hours there and could have spent more if they were not closing.

We arrived after hours (it closes at 4:30), and walked around the area which was open... Not the gated more private section. Would have loved to see more of the famous graves in the private, gated section.

Most people, including myself, would not consider a cemetery to be an " attraction" but this one is! Beautiful historic grounds, a lovely long walk, or you can drive through (to see where Colonel Sanders is buried?).

As I was looking up things to do in Louisville, KY one thing that kept being mentioned was the Cave Hill Cemetery. Who would even think about taking their wife and kids to a cemetery for the last day of their trip? ME! It was by far the most interesting / beautiful cemetery I've ever been to. Col. Sanders (KFC... When it comes to Cave Hill, I am somewhat biased. Family members are at rest in the cemetery. It is a well cared for cemetery with attractive grave markers. It is a great place to walk and very scenic. It is a peaceful environment and if you look at the graves you will being to understand Louisville's history. Those who... More

Beautiful cemetery. The map is a MUST & very easy to follow. The workers are all very polite & helpful. We went on a gorgeous midweek day & it was the best time to go. Getting lost is easy to be but you can find so many amazing things!!
