We love to walk the grounds at Cave Hill. The place is an amazing and historic venue to enjoy a little exercise and relaxation. Yes, it sounds strange but the cemetery is a relaxing stroll filled with local historic legends and beautiful monuments honoring some of the regions special familes. Park at the front and walk to the back and... More

In addition to visiting the grave site of KFC founder Col. Sanders, we stumbled upon a section of military burials. A lot of civil war solders are buried at Cave Hill. Guards at the guard station were very helpful and pleasant.

This cemetary is beautiful, and has a "peace" that you will never feel anywhere else. The gravesites are amazing. It was very sureal. We found (after a bit of searching since the guard at the front gate didn't know where the gravesite was), the "Jesus is my swingset" memorial for a sweet little girl who drowned. We also saw the... I'd have never thought that a cemetery can be a place to go on a lovely Saturday evening but Cave Hill is simply beautiful. With many fascinating stones, statuaries, and tombstones, peaceful pond with ducks and geese and beautiful trees, going to this cemetery can make for an enjoyable day. I visited Cave Hill late fall but it was still... More

One of the most beautiful places in the city. The gardens are world class and there are many historical stones and statuary, many with fascinating stories. While it is a beautiful place all year, spring and fall are breathtaking.

I liked the fact that it is well kept, peaceful, has ponds and beautiful trees of all kinds, and flowers. The stones and the ground are well kept. I like to go around and see the old part of the cemetery because it has very interesting tombstones.

This is truly a beautiful place in the Spring most of all although any time of year is acceptable. Here are buried the famous and not so famous of both Louisville and the state of Kentucky.

Well kept cemetery. Lots of walkways that can take you through the whole cemetery. Park like setting. Nice for just a walk through when you want quiet time. No pets allowed however.

Staff at the office was very helpful when verified burial arrangements for a relative. They told me they had a cell phone app to help locate graves. They had to give me a number and send me a text with the web address of the app for download. Using the app made finding several graves much easier.
