Plan on a bit more time then you think you would need. This place is huge. The guard at the gate is pretty helpful if you tell him who you are looking for. There are some amazing markers here.

Interesting cemetry that has some surprising historical figures. Worth the time driving thru the Highlands and seeing the different style monuments. The National and Confederate sections were very sombering.

This is a BEAUTIFUL cemetery to walk around in. It's so big, it would take hours to walk around the entire place. I came here with friends to try to find the Colonel Sanders grave, and never actually found it. I did find many other beautiful headstones, and visited a really cute pond with ducks and geese walking about. It... More

Take note, the cemetery closes at around 4pm. Was super disappointed! It was still very much sun up. I have never known a cemetery to close!

Lots to see here. Harlan Sanders (of KFC) and Patty Hill, who wrote "Happy Birthday to You." The grounds are immaculately kept and the trees alone merit a visit.

For some reason Colonel Sanders' grave was on my 12 year-olds bucket list so we stopped. Unfortunately it was a Sunday but we had a little extra time on Monday to return. Not worth more than 30 minutes and interesting enough, not spooky, if somehow this made your list of things to do.

A great place to drive or walk through. Many famous people buried there with elaborate stones. Ducks in the ponds. Note .. no pets allowed.

We saw Col.Sanders the founder of KFC as well as the woman who wrote the Happy Birthday song! The oldest existing civil war monument is also here which is very cool!

My whole family is buried here and my father used to take me to feed the ducks at the pond every Sunday. I have nothing but fond memories of Cave Hill. It is breathtakingly beautiful and so full of history!
