This Cemetary has very beautiful grounds. Do not live in Louisville, but have family & friends buried here. Very large grounds, but stop at building right beyond front gates. They have a directory & map to show you how to get around. The Cemetary is set among rolling hills & ponds. Took me back to when I was a child... More

Seems like on many of our vacations we seem to be driving and/or walking through more cemeteries. We found out about it from the downtown Louisville visitor center. The is a small time line of Colonel Sanders, founder of KFC. Anyway, found out he was buried at Cave Hill. Very nice scenic drive. It's like looking at different art work... More

Great artistry, beautiful landscaping. Lots of history, civil war area graves. Would highly recommend. Not far from birth home of Hunter S Thompson

Yes!!! This old, huge, beautiful historical centenary is well worth a drive thru, or stroll. The gorgeous landscaping along with some very old, expensive, beautifully crafted stones, monuments and memorials is very interesting. Some famous people and historical families are laid to rest here, as well as many loved Louisvillians and their families.

Went to see Col, Sanders gravestone - very disappointed by a simple slab with "Sanders" on it. Expected something more colorful. But lots of elaborately etched markers, many angel and artistic markers, some quite weird.

I'm not really one for cemeteries, however it was truly breath taking. Who says you can't take it with you, some of the mausoleums are so ornate it was awesome. Don't forget to follow the yellow line to Colonel Sanders plot. Ps a little farther down is a magician in the reveal pose for all eternity.

This cemetery is so beautiful, especially in the spring and fall with all of the trees and flowers. The history is amazing expescially the civil war section. Many of the grave stone are beautiful pieces of art work! Check out the lake with all of the duck and geese.

This is a beautiful cemetery and has so many famous people, and unique memorial headstones. Even Col.Sanders is there and many stop to have a picture made with his statue. The grounds are gorgeous and all is serene. Love to park and walk on a fall day and enjoy all the scenery.
