We were there on a beautiful July evening and the main attraction was Eric Paslay. This reminds me of a mini Fremont Street experience during the NFR in Las Vegas. A nice crowd enjoying the music, food and atmosphere. Apparently Friday night is the night to be here. It was fun and they do a very good job with security,... More

We visited this pedestrian-friendly block on a Friday night. There was a band or two playing throughout the night and the sound was way too loud. We had to duck into restaurants just to get our ears adjusted back to normal. There are quite a few restaurants and bars here but mostly chain. I was hoping for some local flair... More

Visit Fourth Street Live whenever in Louisville. Great place to divide and conquer when hungry because there is something for everyone. Clean and safe with blocked off walkable street. If you are staying anywhere downtown, you can walk here in under 15 minutes. We are not drinkers, so we have never visited any of the bars. They always seem to... More

Louisville has worked hard to attract people downtown. There is a wonderful museum row, lots of nice restaurants and it seems relatively safe (although the beggars are plentiful). Fourth Street Live is a pedestrian only section of Fourth Street that features mostly chain style fast food but does have a few really nice restaurants. How sad that the private developers... More

We ended up in this area mid day and needed lunch so we took a look around and chose the Gordon Biersch brewery on the front corner. We did a bunch of appetizers and it was excellent. Two days later we made the choice to go back mid day but it was Sunday and VERY quiet. Not all the restaurants... More

Fun little block to spend an evening. Restaurants, shopping, sports bars, and live music. We especially enjoyed Howl at the Moon. Very talented musicians who put their heart and soul into every song the entire night. You will have a great time if you go there. We walked from our hotel and felt quite safe, nice area.

Some travelers might rate low because they don't care for tourist-type places - but hey! I am a tourist and I actually enjoy tourist places. This is a great place to go, from dusk until - to find something that is STILL OPEN and for something to do - there are several restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues. My group went... More

Fourth Street Live is a little block of restaurants and bars, so all your nightlife entertainment needs are met in one place. After a certain time, it is 21+ only, and there are little bar kiosks throughout to make sure you are never empty handed. They have live music on a stage right in the middle of everything. And lots... More

Tourist shopping mall, with some interesting restaurants/bars, though they are a bit pricey for what you get. Very noisy, especially in the evening. There is a dress code. Ok to stop if you are planning on drinking and enjoying the music.

If you're looking for a drunken night, look no further! We visited the first night we arrived in Louisville and we are just a little too old for the "staggering, puking, drunken drama" crowd. Perfect if you are a college student or younger. No real restaurants that aren't chain restaurants. (TGI Fridays, KFC, Taco Bell, etc.) They were just finishing... More
