If you decide to attend a theatrical preformance in part based upon the reputation of the company in charge you can rest assured that presentations by Actors Theater will meet or exceed any reasonable expectations. The theaters themselves are intimate and comfortable. The preformers are talented and well schooled. The programs offer a wide variety of the art form and... More

I recently attended an performance of a new play as part of The Humana Festival. Excellent casting and acting, all elements came together to make the production a memorable experience. Came to the performance last minute without tickets after looking on line and seeing seats were available, bought them at the window and didn't have to pay any handling charges.... More

Not a place for adults with good taste. Productions are silly & juvenile. You would think a city of this size would have legitimate theater. Regrettable.

I just completed a weekend of New Plays at Actors' Theatre. Six plays in three days! It is the Humana Festival of New American Plays. The productions are well done. Nice facilities. The ticket prices are very reasonable. The patrons who attend these new plays purposely travel to see them. This makes for an extremely involved and passionate environment.

The plays have all become MTV shows with loud music and people yelling rather than acting. Everything is forced instead of true acting. I am giving up my subscription after 38 years.

This is worth going to when they have the special shows in town. Otherwise it is average. The area needs more high quality shows on a more permanent basis.

We've had a season subscription for five years now, but will probably not renew. It seemed most of the shows were really good at first, but in the last two years we have not enjoyed a number of the performances and in one case left at the intermission-- something we never do. It had nothing to do with politics or... More

Saw SIster Act there and it was fantastic. I had never been to Actors Theatre of Louisville before and I will definitely go back. The only thing was the seats were a little bit snug.

Actors has suffered declining quality over the past two decades. But, the last performance I saw there, "Pirates of Penzance" performed by the Chicago troupe The Hypocrites, shows Actor's is climbing back. This beach bum/garage band interpretation of Gilbert and Sullivan's classic is just the satire on a satire that it's authors would applaud. You can google the Courier Journal's... More
