We visited 5 of the stops on the Bourbon Tour and have also visited Jack Daniels on an earlier trip. The grounds, the history and yes, the whiskey were my favorite. The countryside and drive in was scenic and the facility itself is well kept but still original and rustic looking.

If you go on a tour of distilleries in the area, leave this one for your last one. It really is the best one out there! Great history of how the Samuels family created their bourbon and very knowledgeable tour guide! I liked the tasting afterwards. Bought a little more than I expected, but it was well worth it! This... More

Nice tour with explanation of the bourbon making process. Very clean grounds and buildings. Taste testing of four samples. Tour ends with a bourbon ball candy and a trip through the gift shop. You can purchase a bottle and dip it yourself.

This was the first stop on our Bourbon Trail trip and what an amazing first stop it was! The grounds were beautiful, the information was interesting and our tour guide was full of knowledge and able to answer all our questions. The tasting was an experience all its own and was the perfect start. A great way to begin the... More

Our tour guide, Ryan, was a wealth of information. He was very professional but kept things interesting. Maker's Mark may not have as many Bourbons as other distilleries, but they concentrated on keeping in simple. Their campus was very quaint. The tasting was also a great learning tool. This distillery is a must on the trail.

The grounds are beautiful, our tour guide (Austin) was soooo much fun, and the bourbon tasting was informative (and delicious)!

With an inside glimpse of Maker's Mark Distillery, you understand the pride they have in their products. Handmade bourbon whiskey - what's not to love! The tour brought us through the processes of whiskey-making plus highlights such as their home, a Chihuly exhibit, and bourbon bonbons. We tasted 4 varieties of bourbon and then could seal (dip in red wax) our... My wife and I recently took a "staycation" and we made the drive out to Loretto (which is beautiful with the fall foliage I might add!) from Lexington. This is the only distillery we have visited, but we have been on tours of other factories/facilities before and this one compares very favorably. You get to see the fermenting vats of... More

As a Maker's Mark Ambassador, I was part of an extended tour with Bill Samuels, Jr. as our guide. It was the best distillery tour I have been on and we learned a lot. I got several bottles from "my barrel" of bourbon with personalized labels and got to dip them myself. Bill also signed all of my bottles for... More
