We love going to The Kentucky Theater because many times it is the only place we can see independent films. A bonus is that we are generally there with like-minded individuals and, best of all, you can have a beer or glass of wine while watching the movie! We also love the Downton Abbey premiere every winter before it is... More

This theater is so neat, they have Woodsongs there. And truly an Excellent experience. You can always check out the website to find out what musical group is playing there. And movies, love it! It really is a luxury theater, and the decor is so beautiful!

Leave the megaplex behind, the Kentucky Theater is the best place for a true movie experience in Lexington. If I have the choice between the nondescript megaplex or the KY, I'll always choose the KY Theater. Same movies, but great atmosphere and ambiance.

Love to go here to watch a movie whether it is an old classic or a new release! The Rocky Horror Picture Show is especially fun around Halloween.

Saw a movie right after it was renovated. Well worth a visit! Always look for a reason to go to the Kentucky Theatre when we are in town.

This place has a storied history, and shows a variety of popular films, documentaries, midnight movies, series, and even hosts the monthly Rocky Horror Picture Show. Good fun - and there are adult beverage options at the concession stand!

A friend and I visited the Kentucky Theater for a midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The theater was easy to find in downtown Lexington. There is street parking or you can use a parking garage just a block away. The theater even has a deal with the garage so you pay less for parking when you let... More

The Kentucky Theater is like taking a trip back in time. The theater is a work of art. The popcorn is just the way popcorn should be deliciously salty and buttery.

This is akin to visiting a time long ago when beauty was part of the theater experiece, be it a movie or a live performance. Recently refurbished, the grand lady is a time capsule that is to be savored, enjoyed, lived. Take a tour, if possible. Catch a movie, a classic. This beauty is a real experience not to be... More
