I've loved this place for decades. The staff is so friendly, the facility itself is gorgeous, esp. the main viewing room. And they show the best films in the city.

This theater offers the best range of films in the city. Their concentration is on independent/art films, and the best of bigger budget films. You'll see films by Anderson, Jarmsuch, Jonze, cuaron, Scorsese, Fincher, Anderson and more. There's also the classic film series, and midnight cult classics.

I'm a long-time Lexington resident and appreciate the Kentucky Theater for its offering of art films as well as major first-run movies, and occasionally they hold special screenings of regional films and documentaries and other special programs. It's right down town and easy to get to, with almost adjacent parking. I've been there many times and always had a pleasant... More

I have gone to the Kentucky Theater since I was in high school and after the fire in the 80's I was so happy that it was rebuilt. If you want to see a beautiful theater and have a fun evening out I really recommend the Kentucky

It's small, intimate with good sound. No dislikes about the theater. Parking can be a challenge. Expect to walk at least a couple of blocks.

The ambiance after you get inside the building is great. The ceilings have beautiful stained glass. The sound was exactly how it should be: not TOO loud. Image was crystal clear. We enjoyed the whole experience.

Shows current main stream, Indy films and classics. Enjoy wine and beer while watching a movie in a beautiful historic atmosphere. Movie prices les than its suburban competitors. Local Aged in the heart of downtown Lexington.

Nice part of Lexington history... but not great for much else. it is worth seeing or going to once... but not much more than that. Unless you just like the odd movies at midnight.

We love "THE KENTUCKY". Bill is kind, gentle and funny. Check out his incredible paintings. Enjoying a glass of wine while watching a movie is a great treat.
