This is an "old style" theater (recently remodeled) - long aisles, big screen, the feeling of "being at the movies." You can get soft drinks and/or beer and wine a the concession stand, too.

Renovations look great. Love the extra concessions offerings. Great place to catch a show. It was cold but most theatres are.

Went to see a high school presentation of Shrek the Musical with my 11 year old for his birthday and we had enjoyed it very much. It is a small theater so there really isn't a bad seat although we were on the second row.

Step into yesteryear with the newly restored Kentucky Theater in downtown to enjoy an art-house / indie movie, a concert or sometimes even a first run blockbuster film. Here, you will have a choice of freshly popped corn, made on premise, wine, beer and cocktails, and best of all, a wonderfully restored grand and glorious theater, with the architectural detail... If you want a true piece of Lexington's historical past while viewing a current film, this is the place to go. Located on Lexington's Main St., the restoration is true to it's fabulous, elegant past while making it a modern theater in every other way. There are also occasional live shows in this venue so watch for upcoming shows.

The Kentucky Theater is an awesome venue to see a movie. Normally there are only 2 or 3 movies showing at a time so plan accordingly but you will love the old world feel with the huge high ceiling theater. Make it a date night in downtown Lexington.

Old fashioned theatre which will remind everyone of a Saturday afternoon at the movies when you were ten years old. Fun to relive it...in a good district with lots of restaurants.

I've loved this place for decades. The staff is so friendly, the facility itself is gorgeous, esp. the main viewing room. And they show the best films in the city.

This theater offers the best range of films in the city. Their concentration is on independent/art films, and the best of bigger budget films. You'll see films by Anderson, Jarmsuch, Jonze, cuaron, Scorsese, Fincher, Anderson and more. There's also the classic film series, and midnight cult classics.

I'm a long-time Lexington resident and appreciate the Kentucky Theater for its offering of art films as well as major first-run movies, and occasionally they hold special screenings of regional films and documentaries and other special programs. It's right down town and easy to get to, with almost adjacent parking. I've been there many times and always had a pleasant... More
