I've done several weddings at this Venue. I have never taken a tour. But from my perspective - I love the staff! Very affordable. And they have several spots, ceremony on the lawn - or side holding area. Reception in the front room - for smaller receptions. Then the holding area in the back - white lights, huge bar. All... My family considered this a highlight in our Kentucky trip. It was absolutely fascinating to watch the trainers and jockeys work the horses. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and took us all around the facility. We highly recommend a visit to this center!

The Thoroughbred Center is a training facility owned by Keeneland. The hour-long tour takes you trackside to watch young and mature horses complete their morning workouts. While we were out there the riders were kind enough to bring some of their horses by for photographs. You learn about the various rolls of the people out on the track (the trainers,... More

A little run down. Must have been quite the place in its 'hay' day! We opted out on the tours . Spend your time at KHP.

The best part of the tour was standing along the fences watching the horses go through training. The jockeys would also stop to talk and answer some questions as well as pose for pictures. You are then given the opportunity to listen to and ask question from a trainer/owner. Would do it again.

Think of this venue as an addition to the Kentucky Horse Park (which I also love.) The two sites have different missions. The thoroughbred center gets you trackside to actually feel the ground shake as the horses in their early-morning breezing fly by you. This tour also gives you time with trainers. The guide was very informative with her personal... More

It was a glorious day and a full bus of tourists for this tour. Lexington is beautiful and everywhere was very clean, well run and plenty of thoroughbreds to look at. The tour guide had a wealth of knowledge and did not rush us at all. The talk with one of the trainers was very informative scattered with a sense... More

Stick with the Horse Park - much better grounds and set-up. Hours and avialability of the The Thoroughbred Center should be checked-out prior to going.

The Thoroughbread Center was interesting however; it is a tab over priced for what you get on the tour. There were stops at the track to watch practices, the stalls to talk with a trainer and a stop at the equine pool area. There were some comments made during the tour that were not appropriate however; this may be due... More
