Not the best kids museum I have ever been to, but pretty good. Definitely designed for small kids. I would say somewhere in the 8-10 range is when kids are going to not enjoy it anymore. My young kids had a blast. Smaller than some I have been to. Still, kids wanted to stay longer. We stayed about 2 hours... More

We visited the Explorium in Lexington on a Sunday afternoon as soon as they opened. During the first part of our visit there were few people there and it was very quiet. It got busier as the day went on, but not too bad for us. When we paid for our tickets they told us that the boys were free... More

We visited with 9,8,6, and 1 year old children. Some of the exhibits need some work, but it didn't seem to bother the kids at all. They had a great time and are already asking to go back. Parking was a issue for me. They used to validate your ticket for a few hours of free parking but have stopped.... More

I visited this place years ago on my own (on a rainy day without kids!) when it was Lexington Children's Museum. Years later I was delighted to return with 2 kids in tow. This review is basically by my children who are both under 6. They loved Explorium and wanted to go every day of our holidays. They went twice.... More

We almost missed out on this because of some of the reviews I read, I'm glad I decided to give it a go. From my adult perspective, it did not seem like much, but I made myself view it from my son's eyes. I know that his reaction is going to mirror mine. I do understand how older kids wouldn't... More

We visited for something to do when it rained. We were really disappointed. The water tables needed more water, and most of the attractions were broken or missing things. The entire leave could use a good cleaning. We went to the science center in Columbus, OH and maybe we were spoiled by that, but this wasn't worth the money.

Just returned from our first visit to the Explorium with our 3 and 5 year olds. Overall, we were not impressed. Many of the exhibits were either closed for 'maintenance', missing needed items/toys to complete the activity or had broken items. It is also very small and can be completed in an hour -- even my 5 year old mentioned... More

I took my 3-year-old niece there, and she loved it. She visited each "exhibit" several times and would have stayed for hours. It could use a little upkeep, but she enjoyed it. I wouldn't recommend for kids over 7 or 8.

Took my two kids here and the 3 year old liked it but my six year old was bored. I was not very impressed with it because it seemed to be lacking proper upkeep. Not much for older kids to do and there isn't any real staff members to keep people from running around. Several teenagers pushed the smaller kids... More

I'm in high school now and I will always remember when I was younger and my babysitter would take me and the other kids to this museum. I haven't been here in along time but I wanted to review it as a kid who's been and loved it. We lived about 20 minutes away so we would go often but... More
