I enjoy visiting public libraries in the cities I travel to. This one is very large and modern. The clock is really nice to watch. Beautiful entry to the building. There is free parking behind the building after 5 pm during the week and free on the weekends. There is a nice park with a water feature next to the... More

Based on other reviews, we were very excited to see the pendulum on our recent trip to Lexington. We walked into the atrium and it was not moving! The person at the information desk just said "I don't know why it isn't working." There was no explanation or offer to find out or indication when it might be started again.... More

Parking was a little tough but it was neat to see the clock. Only takes a few minutes to see. After you check out the clock, take the elevator up to the 4th flour and look down at the pendulum. Also worth a look at the downtown out the 4th floor window. 4 blocks down main street is Triangle park... More

The clock is amazing and interesting for children and adults alike. There is a great little cafe on the ground floor and an outside courtyard to enjoy coffee, a salad or sandwich. The children's floor is pretty cool...lots of windows, space and enjoyment. If you get the opportunity to see a movie in their theatre, enjoy! Comfortable seats and excellant... More

It was so exciting to go see this clock. What a beautiful piece and very nicely displayed. The clock is right in the library lobby. You can take the elevator up to any of the upper floors and look down at the amazing clock. Also, be sure to look up. Very cool and unique attraction, And free, They also have... More

I certainly didn't think I'd walk into a giant pendulum swinging from the ceiling when I walked into the library. It's absolutely beautiful! Could watch it for hours and marvel at the art.

Was visiting Lexington to see friends and they brought us into the library to see the Pendulum. Very cool to see and makes you think about the earth's rotation. Was glad we stopped in to see it.

Lexington Library is located in downtown Lexington. The main feature is their Ceiling Clock and Foucault Pendulum which is located in the center of the building. It is very interesting to see but it is not something that takes long to see. You might find driving around in the downtown district interesting if you enjoy seeing renovated older buildings. I always enjoy the library as there are several floors to enjoy and their used books for sale downstairs. Purchased some really god books and magazines there! There is a good computer section on the second floor if you need to do some research or print an article. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
