I enjoy visiting public libraries in the cities I travel to. This one is very large and modern. The clock is really nice to watch. Beautiful entry to the building. Based on other reviews, we were very excited to see the pendulum on our recent trip to Lexington. We walked into the atrium and it was not moving! The person at the information desk just said "I don't know why it isn't working." There was no explanation or offer to find out or indication when it might be started again.... More

Parking was a little tough but it was neat to see the clock. Only takes a few minutes to see. After you check out the clock, take the elevator up to the 4th flour and look down at the pendulum. The clock is amazing and interesting for children and adults alike. There is a great little cafe on the ground floor and an outside courtyard to enjoy coffee, a salad or sandwich. It was so exciting to go see this clock. What a beautiful piece and very nicely displayed. The clock is right in the library lobby. I certainly didn't think I'd walk into a giant pendulum swinging from the ceiling when I walked into the library. It's absolutely beautiful! Could watch it for hours and marvel at the art.

Was visiting Lexington to see friends and they brought us into the library to see the Pendulum. Very cool to see and makes you think about the earth's rotation. Was glad we stopped in to see it.

Lexington Library is located in downtown Lexington. The main feature is their Ceiling Clock and Foucault Pendulum which is located in the center of the building. I always enjoy the library as there are several floors to enjoy and their used books for sale downstairs. Purchased some really god books and magazines there! There is a good computer section on the second floor if you need to do some research or print an article. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
