Experience why Kentucky is world famous! Our fun and informative horse farm tours (approximately 3 hours in length) take you through the heart and soul of Kentucky's beautiful blue grass horse country. Drive by, see and hear the history of Calumet horse farm, home of a breeding and racing dynasty that dominated the sport of kings during the 1940s, 1950s and beyond. Step out and enjoy a walking tour of the ivy-covered grounds of historic Keeneland Race Course, home to the planet's most expensive horse auctions. Take a peek at the thoroughbred horse lifestyle as we take you behind the scenes to explore a premier thoroughbred horse farm and visit up close and personal with their famous horses. We'll even see where scenes from the major motion pictures Secretariat, Seabiscuit and Dreamer were filmed.

My husband and I know nothing about horse racing or thoroughbred horses. This tour was a great introduction to the world of thoroughbred horses. I loved watching the horses do their morning workouts at Keeneland, but I really loved visiting the moms and their babies at Magdalena Farm. How amazing to see these powerful, beautiful creatures up close. Wow! We... More

My husband and I went on this tour for our 21st wedding anniversary. The guide Daniel was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed his stories. He even sang for us in Italian! One of our stops was Magdalena Farm and the owner was there rating the foals. It was just a joyous treat to witness. This is a must when visiting... More

Daniel Wade not only educated us city slickers on thoroughbred horses and horse farms, but peppered the tour with lots of good humor.

My husband booked this tour for us while we were in Lexington for RunTheBluegrass Half Marathon. We were both blown away by Nicks knowledge, personality and his laid back easiness. One of our top two Best guides we've ever had. We gained knowledge and respect for thoroughbred horse racing, visited Keeneland Race Track, saw beautiful horse farms and also visited... More

Just returned from the most informative and enjoyable afternoon on one of Daniel's tours. We had the unusable pleasure of witnessing the owner and trainer of Magdalena Farms rate the new colts and fillys, one of them just 2 1/2 weeks old. We were just lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time! Even without that... More

My wife and I brought our 14 yr old daughter (who loves horses) to Lexington for a belated Christmas gift. We decided to start our adventure with a guided tour as we knew nothing of the horse farm country or the area and are we glad we choose Thoroughbred Heritage Horse Farm Tours. Dan was very informative and engaging as... More

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of joining one of Daniel's tours. Neither of us are from the area or knew much about horses or the breeding, farming, racing industry at all in advance. Daniel took us to a bunch of different farms and related spots, made the whole experience so much fun, and we came out knowing a... More
