Our fun and informative tours (approximately 3 hours in length) take you through the heart and soul of Kentucky's beautiful blue grass horse country. Drive by, see and hear the history of Calumet farm, home of a breeding and racing dynasty that dominated the sport of kings during the 1940s, 1950s and beyond. Step out and enjoy a walking tour of the ivy-covered grounds of historic Keeneland Race Course, home to the planet's most expensive horse auctions. Take a peek at the thoroughbred horse lifestyle as we take you behind the scenes to explore a premier thoroughbred farm and visit up close and personal with their famous stallions. We'll even see where scenes from the major motion pictures Secretariat, Seabiscuit and Dreamer were filmed. « less

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with our guide Tim Wilson. As he has been involved in the horse business for many years he was able to explain very well all about the care and breeding of thoroughbred horses. We were, however, disappointed that we were unable to see any of the horses. It was interesting to learn so much more... More

Sometimes at the farms they may be working in the stall areas doing such things as trimming or shoeing and we can't control that. We will always do our best to get you as close to the horses as allowed by the farm. More

What a GREAT tour. A group of us are in Lexington for an event at the Kentucky Horse Park, coming from all over the country, and on our one day off, decided to book a tour through Thoroughbred Heritage Horse Farm Tours. And we are all SO glad we did. Our guide, Nicholas Todd Newman, could not have been better.... More

Our guide Nicholas is not only a life-long resident of Lexington and a member of one of its oldest families -- the Todd family as in "Mary Todd Lincoln"--but is also an active member of the racing industry. His insights were awesome and he has a great personality! Because of the timing of our tour in May, we saw many... More

Our guide was very knowledgable and took us to three different farms. We drove around the grounds of one, and got out for an in depth tour at WinStar and McPeek thoroughbred farms. If you want to find out about thoroughbreds and the Kentucky Blue Grass area, then this I the tour to take.

Our guide made our tour loads of fun. Have lived near Lexington all my life. Did not realize how little I knew. It was well worth the money. I plan to take my Mom for Mothers day. Great day for young or old.

There were 4 adults & 2 children in our party. Everyone had loads of fun and learned so much! I can't believe we have missed this gem in all of our trips to the Lexington area. A definite must-do. Nick was our guide and I cannot imagine someone more knowledgeable or more personable. He is in "the business" and had... More

John the tour guide was great. He made the tour so interesting. It was well worth the money. My 16 yr was with me on the tour and she loved it also. When I first booked the tour she did not want to go. She was afraid it would be an elderly group of people and boring. She was sooo... More

Our family, including three children, enjoyed our tour. The history of Lexington, Kentucky and horses was unbelievable. We would definitely take this tour again.
