Experience why Kentucky is world famous! Our fun and informative horse farm tours (approximately 3 hours in length) take you through the heart and soul of Kentucky's beautiful blue grass horse country. Drive by, see and hear the history of Calumet horse farm, home of a breeding and racing dynasty that dominated the sport of kings during the 1940s, 1950s and beyond. Step out and enjoy a walking tour of the ivy-covered grounds of historic Keeneland Race Course, home to the planet's most expensive horse auctions. Take a peek at the thoroughbred horse lifestyle as we take you behind the scenes to explore a premier thoroughbred horse farm and visit up close and personal with their famous horses. We'll even see where scenes from the major motion pictures Secretariat, Seabiscuit and Dreamer were filmed.

This was enjoyed by all in our group. We learned so much about the horse business from our guide Nicholas. Funny, engaging, and informative. I never expected to see so much and learn so much about horses. I've read the other reviews and it sounds like it would be fun to do again at another time of year. So, so... More

Well rounded, excellent tour! My family was visiting from Minnesota and I wanted to show them the beautiful horse country of our Bluegrass State. It was easy to book with Thoroughbred Heritage Tours and, if you have a special request, Larry the owner will work with you. We visited beautiful farms, got to pet mares and their foals, got a... My dad instilled a love of horses in my heart. I have always wanted to visit thoroughbreds in Kentucky. My daughter, her mom-in-law and I set up a tour with Thoroughbred Heritage tours and we were not disappointed. Daniel was our tour guide. He was so knowledgeable of Kentucky history and the part that horse racing has played. The story... More

I first took this tour in November 2013 and Dan was our tour guide. I had friends coming in town from Michigan and California for New Years, and I knew there was no way they could leave Lexington, Kentucky without taking a trip with Thoroughbred Heritage Horse Farms. If you are able to, I highly recommend asking for Dan as... More

We saw everything we wanted to see. We saw the most beautiful horses, barns that looked like homes and homes that looked like palaces. Our guide knew the history and the current racing news. We were able to see "behind the scenes" at Keeneland. Our guide had answers for every question we asked. We are going to go again when... More

Everything about the tour was set perfectly. It wasn't too long, it wasn't boring, and we got to see many horses. Tour man Dan is a gem. He really set the mood and excitement for the trip. As soon as we left the parking lot I felt like I was at a Disney Safari. Dan began telling us the history... More

Tour man Dan was our tour guide and I never thought I'd have that much fun in Kentucky learning about horses. He hit it off so well from beginning to end and knew so much! He was funny and kind. If you're in Kentucky you must take this tour and request tour man Dan! Also, dress warm of it's in... More

This tour was very fun and exciting. Tour man Dan was our tour guide and he is very knowledgable about the horses and the farms and is very fun. He took us around to all the farms in the area telling us about the history and the major horses to come out of the farms. If you want to get... More

Daniel was our tour guide today. He picked us up right on time, we took the 1pm tour. It was a nice sunny afternoon 50 degrees. He was very personable and informative. My family enjoyed getting up close to many of the famous horses and taking pictures with them. Entered farms that are not open to general public. The tour... More
