This is a nice winery outside of Lexington. There is a bit of a drive off of the road. Go past the big barn which is used for events. You can taste 6 wines for $5. That should be plenty if you only taste dry or sweet. They have a nice selection (the Cab Reserve counts two by the way)... More

We absolutely love that Talon is doing the (free) weekend music on the patio! We went on a Friday, did a wine tasting, bought some wine & cheese and sat outside and listened to some great music with another couple. It was very relaxing and we will be back! The fact that you can bring your own 'picnic' makes this... More

The tasting bar was a stand-up affair, but you could sit outside as well. You could get 6 tastings for $5 - except the Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve that counted for two. Oyster crackers were deployed in a T-shaped dish, which takes some dexterity. You could also get a wine- or beer-flavored herbed cheese with mini-pretzels if you ask. The restrooms... More

I'm assuming this is the same winery, but the local town our "Garmin" directed us to was Shelbyville. It is in a pretty area. Gift Shop, bathroom & tasting room were all very nice. The lady who assisted us was friendly & knowledgeable. The selection wasn't as numerous as some wineries I have visited, but I got a good dry... More

Enjoyed the cute winery, tasted six wines and ordered a few bottles of chardonnay. Nice staff. I would return to have a picnic on the grounds.

A lovely family winery to visit and excellent wines to taste. They have a good array of wines to taste, so those who like their wines sweet have a selection and those who like their wines dry have an especially wonderful selection. The nice young lady conducting our tasting was knowledgable, polite, professional and engaging. We liked their dry wines... More

The winery is decorated wonderfully. Very clean and fun place to be. The service was friendly and the back deck/patio area view is relaxing with a view of a lake. They also have music so if you like live music, check their schedule and plan your visit. Oh, and make sure you try out the hand scrub in the bathroom.... More

Talon is our favorite winery in the area, mainly because of the high quality and variety of wines they produce. The grounds are beautiful as well, and they now have live music on weekend evenings when the weather is nice. Make sure to head down Tates Creek road to Talon and have a great afternoon.

We stopped here on a whim because we needed a break from a lengthy roadtrip. Getting back to the winery was a little ways off the highway, but the scenery and land surrounding was beautiful. The winery grounds themselves were beautiful as was the tasting room in the former farmhouse. The gift shop inside the house was well stocked with... More

This is an extension of Lexington's Talon Winery. There's no wine making here, but the surrounding farmland looks like it could become a vineyard. The gift shop here was well stocked. And the wine was pretty good as well. Only $1 each to sample.
