We visited the 1000 tour on a Monday morning. We were the only tour visitors and were taken into the kitchens and packing areas. Monica was a very good guide and we tasted chocolate covered pecans, right off the line. A delicious experience.

& she showed us all there was to see. This is a very small shop which was surprising - but a relief after the pathetic display at Hershey. The candy is delicious and we sampled as much as I could handle. She talked about fudge being a big seller but we didn't see any in the store. Perhaps it is... More

We were hoping to take a tour but not running on Labor Day but that was ok. It was more of a gift shop than a candy / chocolate store. So if you want some UK merchandise and maybe a piece of candy then this is the place for you.

Very good chocolate locally made in Lexington Kentucky. Many of their varieties use bourbon as an ingredient (Why not?). My favorite is the bourbon truffles. The shop is rather large and even sell gifts and touristy items (with a heavy emphasis on the University of Kentucky). Not sure what to buy? There are generous portions of free samples to try.... From everything I had read about this place, it sounded like a factory. It offered tours to see how the candy was made. We were past the time of the last tour but decided to go anyway. After we finally found the place, it was only a store in a strip mall. Looks can be deceiving, so I decided to... More

We stopped in Lexington on our trip north hoping to take a tour of the chocolate factory. Unfortunately when we arrived we learned it would be 3 more hours until the next tour so had to forego that. We enjoyed sampling the chocolates and couldn't leave without a box of the chocolate covered potato chips. Just wish the times of... More

Definitely worth a visit to The Old Kentucky Chocolate Factory. Took our 10 year old Granddaughter, as she LOVES candy, but Gram & Papa enjoyed it just as much as she did! Fun tour gal and some yummy tastings. Had to overlook all the UK "stuff" as we are Universally of Michigan fans😉

We were on our way home from a 3 day golf trip and we stopped to take the tour of the factory. It was amazing how everything is still done without big machines. There are employees boxing the candies, putting them on the conveyor belts etc. They had tons of samples and did have tongs to pick them up with... More

I was there last Derby week. They insisted that I take a sample of each bourbon ball offered and were very gracious. The Black Forest truffle is the best bourbon ball in KY. Ed from Princton NJ
