Thank you ladies for the extra special wrapping of our chocolates so we could take all 4lbs on the motorcycle. The dinner suggestion was great too!

The store on Southland Drive: The major product is the chocolates--a wonderful and delicious assortment. But this store also sells a variety of gifts, from University of Kentucky-themed merchandise to general giftware. A fun place to shop, especially at the holidays.

Yesterday around 2:30 my wife and I were in the Old Kentucky Chocolates store on Southland Dr. and when I went up to the counter, there were samples there. I stood there for a few minutes looking for something to pick up one of the free treats presented there, and I didn't see anything like wax paper, so I used... More

Ok, I give this a five based mostly on one of their chocolates: the Black Forest Truffle. Everything else was just "cute" or "ok", generally chocolate, in other words. But the Black Forest Truffle is BOURBON. They say it's cherries and bourbon smashed together with chocolate in a chocolate coating, but I guarantee you, you will taste chocolate and bourbon... More

Find the outlets if you can. There are better bournon balls out there, but when these are on sale (1/2 off when we were there), they're a decent deal. Nice selection overall.

Great little store. Had a lot of Kentucky themed chocolates, home made sweets and many unique items. It showcased the heart of Kentucky, the horses, and had many unique chocolate items and fashion items in the store.

I feel I need to write in support of the reviewer who wrote 3 months ago and gave Old Kentucky Chocolates 2 stars. We visited the store today and, after tasting several different chocolates, left without making a purchase. As cristinaandbob said, they looked chalky and tasted old.

You would never know from driving by this strip mall that an entire candy making operation is inside. They sell almost every candy that you can think of and if you can dip it in chocolate and eat it, they have it! The tour is very interesting, watching the molding of the chocolate, the wrapping and labeling, and seeing how... More

I was a bit surprised at how generic these chocolates taste. I make chocolate every year for Christmas and that is about the same quality. Also, when we opened the box of assorted truffles we bought, half of them were chalky. Like someone had left them in the freezer or they were really old. We ended up not finishing them.... More

Old Kentucky Chocolates looks like any other store located in a strip mall, but inside is a place unlike any other. We took a factory tour, which was nothing short of charming. This company produces Southern hospitality along with delectable treats! The factory is truly a mom-and-pop style operation. While most factories would seem impersonal, this one is very personal...
