I've made many trips to the Arboretum for a variety of reason. Typically, I am there for a run, but I have also visited simply to enjoy the wide variety of trees and plants. The arboretum has a long paved undulating running/walking circuit, with several spurs. It also has a network of mulched trails in densely canopied woods in one... More

Great place to walk, run or study trees. Nice visitor center. Rose garden, with beautiful new sculpture dedicated to the 49 people who died in a plane crash in Lexington five years ago. More

We visit the Arboretum once or twice a year to see the flowers and gardens. Very relaxing and photogenic. In years past I shot rolls of pictures there for photography class, and also shot photos of friends (engagement pictures). Lots of good light and backgrounds for photography. Also, this is a great place to look at plants that you might... More

If the weather is nice, I'd suggest a walk in arboretum. There are beautiful flowers, trees, and interesting sculptures . . . and it's free. More

Lovely place to stroll or run and usually other runners and walkers so you feel safe. But the kids activities that they sometimes run during the day and especially in summer are outstanding. Very educational and cost almost nothing. Teachers are patient with even small children. More

In early spring, while many of the trees are still bare, the redbuds, dogwoods, magnolias, and cherry trees were all in bloom. Lilacs were starting to bloom, and dafodils, tulips, panseys, and many other flowers really added a lot of color. I can only imagine how beautiful it would be in the summer when the roses start to bloom. The... More

Just a great place to unwind and enjoy the beauty that Kentucky has to offer. I enrolled in an annual membership and look forward to taking some of the classes and events they offer. They also offer lots of things for children to do, great learning experience. With an unseasonably warm March, most things were in full bloom. More
