Very lovely. We enjoyed walking here by ourselves, and with our dog. Can't beat the price (free). Great spring/summer/fall activity!

Spending a picnic with a friend, an invigorating walk, or being amazed watching the seasons change - this place is a treat. Great rose display, centrally located. Its a regular stop for us...

Beautiful! A great place to walk & relax. The memorial to flight 5191 is an outstanding tribute to those who died in the accident. A great place to visit anytime.

Large area to run, walk, play, bird watch and flower watch in spring and summer. The university also developed play area for kids with original landscaping architecture.

The Arboretum--a botanical garden--has everything a nature lover would wish for, right in the middle of the city! You can take classes to learn more about gardening, tree identification, making rain barrels and gardens, learn a craft (usually for kids), or just enjoy the quiet. There no charge for this beauty break!

No matter the season, if you are visiting Lexington, take the time to drop by the Arboretum. Even if you have less than an hour to spend, it's the perfect place to experience the lovely outdoors and fresh air of Lexington. It's very easy to access, adjacent to the University of Kentucky and there is no fee. Gardens are well... More

Nice place to walk around and to see the lovely trees just beginning to turn to beautiful fall colours. Lovely roses and nicely planted borders.

Such a well done area. All free, and peaceful. You can walk a lot of a little and be very happy there.

Busy and well-used indicates how popular a place the Arboretum is! It is the KY state botanical garden and has many displays of plants, flowers, and demonstration gardens for vegetables and herbs. The childrens garden is also worth visiting, but does have a fee for that section to help with the cost of building.

It was hot when we visited so that made the trip unbearable. The place has a map, but it's poorly designed. It makes it sound really neat and when you go to visit certain parts it's not what you expect. The map would say "water garden" and when you visited, it barely had any water and was like a swamp....
