It is an amazing place to run or walk around in the back of a quiet neighborhood and located just off of UK's campus. The staff is preserving the environment in the arboretum and continue to add great features. You can also get a great view of the upcoming and new Commonwealth stadium renovations.

We had a wonderful visit to the arboretum while we were in town. The kids loved all the old tree truck that were hollowed out, they were climbing on them most of the morning. The rose garden was just as beautiful. Plenty of paved trails for walking or running and lots of open space for the kids to play. The... More

It was just so hot the day we were there. The welcome center is open M-F and although the website says til 5 p.m., they close at 4 p.m. Restrooms available inside this center. I did see a porta potty outside in the parking lot. Lovely trails and would have done more if the weather wasn't 95...hope to go again... More

A stop here was a last-minute decision and I'm glad we made time to check it out -- if you're into plants and landscaping, you should definitely visit. Beautifully maintained property, most plants and trees are identified, and there are several trails that veer off the main, paved path so visitors can check out interior areas/gardens, many of which are... Though parking can be a pain if there are a lot of people there, the Botanical Garden is incredible when things are in bloom. Lots of informative placards in addition to the great biodiversity and pleasant landscaping. The walking/running track is scenic too, once you get past the large pasture/field, but be careful on the bridge - it can be... More

What a great park.Free and pet friendly!! I will return at different times of year. We found this on a spur of the moment trip through the area heading towards Norris lake .. traveling with our dog. It was very hot and humid so to keep the visit short ... but saw enough to know it's amazing and worth a... More

We always visit the Arboretum - it's such a peaceful place. Worth a stop any season. Not only trees, but annuals, perennials, vegetables and a lovely rose garden. If you have children, be sure to stop in the children's area, too!

It's a beautiful park with a figure 8 type walking trail, I think 2 miles r/t. Just a beautiful gem and so relaxing. Lots of people use the trail and very friendly.

Although containing a pretty rose garden, and a variety of flowers, this was quite a small garden as compared to most other gardens. While the Chicago, Minneapolis, New York, San Francisco ect. Gardens go on for thousands of acres, this would be lucky to have 5. Some plants are even unmarked, and there is only one, rather short path. Perhaps,... More
