Loved walking the main trail and taking all the little "side trails". If I lived in the area, I would come here all the time! Great place for kids to run around and a picnic here would be wonderful.

Perhaps not the best time to visit, is 5 minutes before the visitor center closes, with humidity so high, you can see it in the air, but that's what we did. Barring, the horrible garden weather KY was suffering from the gardens were still an enjoyable trip, full of easy trails, shade laden pockets with water features that made it... More

For what I saw it was nice and free. I didn't browse as much as I wanted because of the heat but I took many flowers

This is one of the most beautiful parks I have ever seen. It is an extremely well-maintained Garden of Eden that invites those who enter to sit a spell and just relax. The Children's Garden is a wonderful place for kids to learn the quickly becoming lost art of growing things. The main garden is free but there is a... More

Each year for the past four years we made sure to include a trip to the Arboretum in our Lexington, KY visit. Each year we were able to talk to some of the many volunteers about the gardens and plants. This year the vegetable gardens were a big disappointment. Instead of an abundance of many unique and interesting vegetable plantings,... More

Having been to Commonwealth Stadium several times for UK football games, I knew where The Arboretum was at, but never stopped by. That changed last week because my wife wanted to see it on the way back from the Smokies since we were going to be in Lexington anyway. It was a Sunday, so info center was closed. But bathrooms... This is a beautiful park like atmosphere located just across the street from Commonwealth Stadium. The gardens are beautiful! The walking path around and through the arboretum are paved. Lots of walkers and joggers. No bikes allowed so you don't have to worry about getting run over. Also, they have special events including outdoor theater in the summer.

The arboretum is conveniently located across from Commowealth Stadium just off of the UK campus. Lovely relaxing walking trails through many different varieties of trees, bushes and flowers. Very, relaxing and peaceful. Well worth the stop.

Great walking paths, lots of different plantings to examine, close and convenient parking, even a walking path through some wooded areas where you can experience poison ivy if you're not careful. Dogs on leashes are welcome.

The arboretum is small and enjoyable, especially if you have children. The children's garden is probably one of the best I've seen. They have added an amazing train section and have other various activities that invite kids to enjoy nature. Since I live in Lexington, I have seen it evolve over the past few years, and I can honestly say... More
