The place is rather large and hard to get to at the moment due to lots of construction going on nearby. We enjoyed the small children's living zoo experience but did not enjoy the property so much...perhaps because it was so hot and expansive with no guides to assist you and very few signs anywhere that we could see.

The arboretum features walking paths with all of the plant life identified. Great place for an evening walk.

An island of peace for walkers and flower lovers. Not to be missed. The rose garden is superb and the children's garden is a great diversion of the kids and adults alike (if it is open when you visit).

Because there is currently major construction on Alumni Dr from Nicholasville Rd to the Arboretum entrance, you will need to approach the Arboretum from Tates Creek Rd, which is parallel to Nicholasville Rd. From Nicholasville Rd heading toward the city, you would need to turn right on Cooper Dr (which is Waller Ave in the other direction). At Tates Creek... More

This is a wonderful place to go if you want a quiet walk or a small picnic. The arboretum caters to no specific group. The pathway through the park is welcoming for the casual stroll or the runner. It's a tough run with meandering hills up and down, but well worth the beauty. Not a great deal to see, but... More

I love the paved path and I like how they kept the woods unpaved. Recently there's a bulldozer in the woods and I hope they aren't paving this section. Not many people go into the woods and this is nice because you don't have to deal with running into people or pets. The main path is 2 miles long. There's... More

The children's garden is spectacular! It is worth the visit. There are nice paved walking paths and beautiful roses in the summer.
