Potentially a nice beach but completely ruined by the amount of rubbish dumped by visitors. I can't believe the attitude of some people that turn up for a BBQ by the beach and just leave trash everywhere. It's a real issue at most of Qatar's beaches.

After more than an hour drive from doha we were promised of a heaven on earth but we got nothing. A desrted beach that you can get any where in qatar. in wakra you get better beach and services for lesser hassle.

Just 4.5 km beyond Fuwairit is Al Ghariya beach. On Shamal (North) Road, take the Al Ghariya turnoff, follow the tarred road and keep to the right when the road splits. After the Al Ghariya Beach Resort, drive 1.5 km until you reach an abandoned village. The best spot is further north beyond the old Scout Camp.

In spite of the long drive, I loved the experience that I had at Ghariya Beach. It just took 45 minutes for me from the Salwa Road to Ghariya Beach. The main plus points of the beach is that it is really neat and calm. No rush (as it is off limits from city) Secure as we have a coast... More

It has been long time since we go there in small or big groups for a day-out on the beach. We've spent some nights there too. Avoid being there on long holidays as the place becomes overcrowded. Some ATV rental available but be careful and make sure of the quality before taking it.

This one of my fav. Beaches in Qatar & this is why: 1- very easy to reach by taking the expy road & head toward north until you read Ghariya on the signs 2- very clean & nice for swimming 3- lights of the resort near makes it possible to stay late 4- suitable for some off-roading 5- buggy rental... We had a nice outing at Al-Ghariya beach after reading positive things about it. It's about 80 km north of Doha and is worth the longish drive. The beach is nice and not too crowded. You can park your vehicle right next to where you settle down and that's a definite plus. Unfortunately, there are no toilet or other facilities.

We have been to several beaches in Qatar but this time we want to explore a new one. We love the location. Little crowded but everyone was friendly. Music, BBQ… We relax and enjoy overlooking the ocean. Beach is very beautiful. It wasn’t hard to find but 80km North of Doha. To get there go on Al Shamal (North) Road.... More
