My family rock hounds and spent the morning hunting for the crystals which are called cape may diamonds. Great beach, friendly locals and lots to find. Bring water shoes on beach lots of shells and rocks....not so great for bare feet.

LOVE THIS BEACH! I personally have never swam in the ocean here, but we always go to visit the beach and all it has to offer like the Sunset Beach Gift shops (Which are AMAZING!). The grille has a small menu but something for everyone. The Atlantus is such a neat site to see. And if you can get there... More

Great place to catch the sunset, hence the name. Plan to park on the road and walk. Very good souvenir shops and seaside grill.

Always a great view at sunset. Travelled with a Boy Scout Troop and every night they retire a flag flown in honor of a fallen hero complete with the Anthem and Taps. Very moving and quite a moment to experience

Sunset Beach to me is not the best beach in NJ. But I didn't come for the beach. I came with family & friends for the experience. The concrete boat is a cool piece of history that is slowly disappearing. The lowering of the flag ceremony is both inspiring and touching. Looking for Cape May Diamonds is a great side... More

Visiting this beach at sunset has become a family tradition. The simple ceremony honoring a specific veteran and the singing of the national anthem are very touching, and the sunset viewed across the ocean horizon is spectacular. Take some time to look for the clear, glowing, quartz stones called Cape May Diamonds, expect to spot some dolphins swimming by, and... More

If you are visiting Cape May NJ, you must drive down Sunset Boulevard and witness the inspiring and natural beauty of the sun setting over the Atlantic Ocean. You may also experience dolphin's swimming along. In addition, each nite until the end of September, an American flag is raised in honor of a deceased veteran. God Bless America and Taps... More

I can see where this would be a nice place to pick rocks and watch a sunset. However, on the day we went there were several hundred dead fish decaying on the shore and the stench was intolerable. Not sure who manages this beach but they weren't on the ball that day.

I am glad I discovered this place as it was pretty cool. We stayed in Wildwood and it was about a 15 minute drive from there. It is a beach, but Im not sure you would want to take a dip in the water. There are a few reasons to visit this place. 1. The sunset view - The view... More
