We have been here several times and the sunsets are beautiful. You may need to pick your spot early because it is popular. Limited seating and parking spaces, so bring a blanket or chairs The flag ceremony can be very emotional as they read the veterans life story and lower the flag from his funeral to the playing of Taps.

This is always a stop on at least one day while we are at Cape May for vacation. The people doing the service truly put their hearts into the ceremony. The weather was perfect for a perfect sunset over the Bay. It does get pretty crowded. Prepare to get there at least 1/2 hour before sunset otherwise you will be... More

For 30-some years we have made the trip to Cape May and each time, Sunset Beach is a must see. Seeing the sunset there with the National Anthem playing just brings goosebumps. And we always love to stop in the stores there for some seashell and summer items. The sunken concrete ship is fun to see too. If you are... More

Its was really amazing experience even the evening was cloudy and we couldn't see the sunset. The beach is awesome and it takes your breath away. Its really nice to search for the 'diamonds' there :)

I like this place because of 2 things: the slowly-deteriorating concrete ship plus the beach is "Free" unlike the other Cape May beaches where you need to purchase $6/day beach tags for the privilege of walking/swimming on them. Plus you have to pay to park anywhere there is a fee-to-use beach. Sunset Beach has free parking, nice views, and I... More

Very nice point with a ocean view of the sun setting in the west over the Atlantic. Its fairly quiet, and of course searching for a sea diamond is fun too.

I had never heard of a Cape May diamond until we came to visit our family in New Jersey and they took us here. My daughter and I loved this beach where we watched dolphins playing and hunted for the quartz crystal "diamonds" in the beach pebbles. It was a good opportunity to view the Atlantus shipwreck as well -... More

Find Cape May Diamonds (clear quartz that has washed down the Delaware River and through the Bay onto Sunset Beach. See what little is left of the concrete shipwreck of the USS Atlantus, poke around the gift shops, and get a bite to eat at the beachside eatery. There is also miniature golf and the lookout/fire tower is now open... More

Sunset Beach is where the locals go to walk and relax. After you get past the pile of rubble that was a factory, the beach opens up and quiet reigns supreme. Most folks either nod or say Hey to each other and keep going. This is not a tourist spot like the rest of Jersey shore, this land has been saved from development. It is a... Sun Set Beach, South New Jersey is good place to spend a day, or several days. The Beach includes, three shops, snack bar, Miniature Golf, and the USS Atlantus (a mostly sunken- concrete ship used during World War I. The ship sunk off the coast of New Jersey: June, 8th 1926, during a storm. The Atlantus, the second cement prototype... More
