I've been very fortunate to enjoy this spot for many years. My family and I have grown up having lunch at the shack and watching dolphin play in the surf. Amazing sunsets in the evening while saluting fallen service men and woman at sunset during the summer. The view is incredible and the location is pure unspoiled New Jersey. While... More

Its November and we were the only couple walking the beach at sunset. About 8 cars had occupants watching like a drive in movie! Get out of your car, look for some Cape May Diamonds all around the beach, they are the translucent (when wet) mixed with smaller stones of all colors. What an inexpensive memento of your Cape May... Though it was a bit cold and the wind was blowing, the sunset was just wonderful. We arrived around 5:30 for 6:00 sunset and strolled the beach and talked with others while we waited. It was beautiful and just a wonderful way to end the day. It is a short drive from the history area of Cape May.

Don’t believe the hype- Ummm- sure the sun sets over the bay here and of course that is beautiful but find another spot to be. Sunset beach is to the coast as indoor mall play areas are to playgrounds. It seems as though everyone brings their little kids here to run around loosely supervised while they gather to talk loudly... More

Every time I go there I enjoy it more. It used to be just to look for Cape May Diamonds, then a sandwich at the sandwich shop, then the beautifully arranged gift shop that has everything. Next we went to play miniature golf. The very best reason to go to Sunset Beach is the Flag Ceremony at sunset every evening... More

It was a beautiful fall day and we decided to take a ride to the shore with our dog. After much searching, we found that Sunset Beach in Cape May is dog friendly. The beach itself is long but narrow, and sits on the bay. It is very pebbly, making it very unusual and charming. Great for folks who don't... More

This place is a must go see if your every in the Cape May area. The sand is soft but with rocks and cape may diamonds mixed in. The gift shops are really cute that sell a different variety of items. During the summer time they have a flag ceremony for all veterans I hope to one day have one... More

Love this spot - as a child I sifted through the sand to hopefully find a Cape May Diamond to polish & looked out to the sunken SS Atlantus. It's been built up a little since then (there is now mini golf for example), but the charm remains. I still love to check out the view & browse in the... More

Done this the past two summers..Its so nice! I'd get there 45 minutes before sunset begins, so you don't have to park as far..We take beach chairs and a cooler and some wine..People just hanging out on the beach until the ceremony starts--which is a few patriotic tunes over the loudspeakers and then the veterans flag lowering ceremony while the... It isn't called Sunset Beach for nothing. Beautiful sunsets as well as great flag lowering ceremony. Stores are one of a kind. Only fly in the ointment is many mosquitoes! They have spray but if you are like me you don't want that stuff on your skin. Hopefully in the future they can do something about it because the course... More
