Sunset Beach is the only beach we go to in Capy May. For countless reasons: no beach tags, dog-friendly, bathrooms and food closeby, entertaining - fishermen use the beach and entertain kids with their catches; collecting Cape May diamonds; the nightly, always moving flag-lowering ceremony; beautiful sunsets; the sunken concrete ship; the fossil and shell shop; dolphins swimming by. Be... More

Great spot great stores and great views. The owner of the fossil shop is awesome and his prices are great. The history of the cement ship is a great story.

This is one of my absolute favorite places in Cape May, perhaps of anywhere. I finally had a chance to see the nightly flag lowering ceremony and then the sunset a short time afterwards, and I can honestly say it was like checking off a critical item on my bucket list. What an incredible experience! It was truly the highlight... More

We visited Sunset Beach for the evening Flag Ceremony (held during summer months). A very moving tribute to men and women who have served our Country. Wonderful tradition...thank you to those who make it possible. We also enjoyed the beautiful sunset, the delightful mini golf, gift store and Sunset Beach Grille. All run by very friendly folks.

No Beach Tag Needed !!! Parking was a little tight but don't let that put you off ~ Clean , plenty of open space , and the snack bar isn't 100 feet away

This beach is awesome at sunset as it faces west! Come here about two hour prior to sunset. Eat at the grill shack which is on the beach. Chicken burgers and tenders fries. They have great food and ice cream. There is a sunken ship here which is very exciting. You can see all the speed boats and jet skis.... More

Awesome place to see the sun go down, and there is plenty of shore to give most everyone a front-row view. Parking is limited so people end up parking down the road that feeds into the parking lot.

This was a well kept secret of Cape May that should be enjoyed by all....We visited Sunset Beach during the day and just happened to go back to the amazing gift shops, and realized how beautiful the Sunset at this beach is. There was a beautiful service that coincided with the actual sunset. Just Breathtaking.

A friend recommended visiting the beach to look for Cape May "diamonds". As it turns out, these are softened pieces of quartz amidst pebbles and stones on the beachfront. This turned out to be a highlight of our trip. The sunset was breathtaking (albeit fast) and we had fun looking for the "diamonds" as well. I would recommend getting there... More
