We went on our canoe and kayak trip last weekend, and the waters are too low to accomodate the watercraft. I spent much of the time dragging a kayak thru rocks, and my guy dragged to canoe with kids. Had I known that there would be more walking/ dragging on the creek, I would not have gone. I had looked... More

I am so sorry about your experience with us. We were looking forward to you having a great time as much as you were. We wish Mother Nature would be a bit more cooperative with us, as she usually is, but we have seen her being finicky this year. We have been trying to tell customers as best we can... More

Despite low water conditions we had an epic day at Canoe Kentucky. Don't let low water stop your plans to visit there. Yes, it did get a little tiring to pull kayaks over rocks but the scenery, serenity and tons of family laughter was worth it without question. The staff is extremely courteous and knowledgeable. The rental gear is very... More

I have been canoeing in several states, including Kentucky. This is the first time I had gone with Canoe Kentucky. This was by far the best experience that I have ever had and all this time it was right in our own back yard! The river moved along great and was fun and challenging. The staff and equipment were all... More

Canoe'd the 3-4 hr 'fun float' on the Elkhorn using Canoe KY on a Sunday / 11am slot. Was a moderate group (filled a school bus). Facility was nice and clean (although could've used at least one more bathroom than the one available). Merchandise was very nice and plentiful. Staff friendly and helpful and accommodating. Creek was low the day... More

We rented a canoe for half day at $55 on Elkhorn, and it was a lot of fun! We did the 6 miles and actually were there from our 10am appointment to 4:30pm. The only hang up I had was that the water was really busy, and we were fishing, so it made it a little harder to fish with... More

I've taken trips on the Elkhorn with Canoe Kentucky a number of times over the past 10 years and they are always professional and helpful. The creek is beautiful. I only give it 4 stars instead of 5 because the level of the water makes a big difference to the enjoyment of the trip-so always check first. Also, there are... More

This was an outstanding outing with 6 in our party...adults plus kids. The water was 1.5 feet above normal but very doable, some excitement with longer stretches of water to hone or renew our skills. Every one had more fun than we imagined. In fact it was so much fun that we are considering buying a kayak!

The creek is always different at Elkhorn. Previously my family and I have rented kayaks at Canoe KY. During a drought the creek was dry. They had alternate plans for flat water paddles on the ky river in Frankfort. Once the creek was closed because water too high but canoe ky quickly rescheduled us to the next day. A great... More
