Very run down. It's very sad that this is not kept up considering the memorial. We drove in...took a picture of the memorial...and drove out very quickly. It's located in a bad part of town.

Most of the trees in the cemetery are labeled and it is a great educational tool. The cemetery is always neat and sits atop a hill in Frankfort and you can see the Capitol building and the Kentucky River from there - great views!

What should be a historic and revered area of Frankfort sits derelict and neglected. Site of a memorial to the blacks that fought in the Civil War, this cemetery is surrounded by a broken down, rusting chain link fence that's been cut in many places and lies next to low income housing projects.
