"... a wonderful collection, and it's FREE! Thank you" a recent visitor. The Swope's Cars of Yesteryear Museum features vehicles ranging from the early 1900's to the 1960's in a variety of makes and models in both original condition and restored condition. After years of planning and nine months of construction, Swope`s Cars of Yesteryear opened in May 1999. The collection consists of sixty magnificent machines of the past, all museum quality. These are exciting automobiles that stir memories of long ago days when motoring was a fun-filled adventure. Our museum allows car fans and collectors to admire the progression of automobiles over time. Our collection includes antique cars like the 1914 Model T and the 1925 Pierce Arrow to classics like the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro and the 1956 Thunderbird.

Who would have thought that nestled in Elizabethtown, between two new car lots no less, would be a museum for car buffs of all makes and models! If you are into 60's muscle cars, they have them. More into the classic 1910-1930s era? Autos galore! Check out several Rolls Royce models from that time period. Unusual examples of automotive history... More

Right on the Dixie, it is a nice collection of cars. You can see the whole collection in under an hour - worth looking at!

This museum has approximately 50 cars. It might sound small, but they are amazing gems. It is a very nice facility and the guide was very knowledgeable and personable. You can go at your own speed or have a guide show you around. We were amazed that it was FREE! It's a bit hard to spot from the road as... More

My husband, 89 year old mother, 2 college aged sons, and myself toured Swope's antique car museum. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. We only had a short time (45 minutes) until it closed. So, Shannon (employee) gave us a personal tour. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the cars. It was fun listening to her tell the highlights of... More

This has got to be a one of a kind museum with vintage and antique cars and it doesn't cost a cent to go inside and browse as long as your wish.

The Swope's Cars of Yesteryear Museum is a 'must-see' if you are near the area. The museum is manageable in that it is not too huge and not too small; and admission is FREE, so what's not to love. My husband and I had a fun time walking through this fascinating collection of antique and vintage cars. Shannon, the museum... More

Have been passing this little gem for years and finally decided to visit with my (41 year old) son in tow. While not large in size it was in the quality of the cars on exhibit that it shined. Allow about 45 - 60 minutes for a quick visit or more if you can. The host knows all of the... More

I have been to a lot of old car museums, but this was one of the best collections of vintage and rare cars that I have seen. Best of all it is a free museum. After talking to the proprietor, I got invited to see the annex which was an extra treat. This is a must see if you go... More

On June 18, 2013, at the end of an enjoyable trip through Kentucky, our 2005 Altima "limped" into Swope Nissan in Elizabethtown. Our air conditioner compressor had locked up, causing the clutch to give way. The compressor was replaced with an aftermarket unit, the system was evacuated and checked for leaks, refilled, and tested again. We were then ready to... More
