"... a wonderful collection, and it's FREE! Thank you" a recent visitor. The Swope's Cars of Yesteryear Museum features vehicles ranging from the early 1900's to the 1960's in a variety of makes and models in both original condition and restored condition. After years of planning and nine months of construction, Swope`s Cars of Yesteryear opened in May 1999. The collection consists of sixty magnificent machines of the past, all museum quality. These are exciting automobiles that stir memories of long ago days when motoring was a fun-filled adventure. Our museum allows car fans and collectors to admire the progression of automobiles over time. Our collection includes antique cars like the 1914 Model T and the 1925 Pierce Arrow to classics like the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro and the 1956 Thunderbird.

Outstanding quality and it's free!

Compact but chock-full of quality. Quite a range of car types from 1900 to 1970 or so. Heavy on Packards from every era, but a little of everything. Ask about the 1931 LaSalle if... read more

Compact but chock-full of quality. Quite a range of car types from 1900 to 1970 or so. Heavy on Packards from every era, but a little of everything. Ask about the 1931 LaSalle if it's not out on the main floor. This museum is FREE, sponsored by Swopes auto dealerships. Thank you Swope family!

I visited Swope's museum with my children, ages 11 and 8, mostly because my son is obsessed with cars. I didn't expect to enjoy walking around the warehouse full of amazing old cars, but each car was fantastic and included fascinating descriptions. The woman working in the museum was very friendly and shared some fun history on some of our... More

An excellent collection of cars and Mrs Shannon (I think that was her name) who showed us around was knowledgeable, informative and enthusiastic. You can wonder around on your own, but ask her to show you around - it makes the visit so much more interesting. They even had a British Jaguar - hurrah - and lots of stunning American... More

This is a great place for anyone interested in old cars, including some that are very rare. Almost every auto there has been restored to factory showroom condition. The cars aren't roped off, like in so many museums, so you have to be careful not to scratch one. But you can get up close to the engines, interiors, etc, and... More

I'm not a car person. Never have been. However, this museum was very interesting to me. They have so many cars and every car is in immaculate conditions. The lady who was working on the day I went was very friendly and helpful. She gave me a rundown on where certain things were located within the museum and told me... More

A great collection of cars and the tour guide, Shannon, was fantastic, lots of information about each car and its history, also some great videos you can sit and watch. We saw some of Jay Leno's collection and enjoyed seeing them driven..

Who would have thought that nestled in Elizabethtown, between two new car lots no less, would be a museum for car buffs of all makes and models! If you are into 60's muscle cars, they have them. More into the classic 1910-1930s era? Autos galore! Check out several Rolls Royce models from that time period. Unusual examples of automotive history... More

This museum has approximately 50 cars. It might sound small, but they are amazing gems. It is a very nice facility and the guide was very knowledgeable and personable. You can go at your own speed or have a guide show you around. We were amazed that it was FREE! It's a bit hard to spot from the road as... More
