The Freeman Lake Trail is one of over a dozen walking/hiking/biking trails in Elizabethtown, KY. There are more than 20 miles of hiking trails that surround the city. I have been to Freeman Lake about 100 times in the past three years that I have lived here. It is a great place to enjoy a leisurely walk, a good run,... More

The hiking is a little rough due to unkept trails but the view of the water is great. We really enjoyed feeding the ducks and geese that were on the lake.

Freeman Lake is a man-made lake in Elizabethtown, KY. Plenty of feathered animals call it home. The ducks get fed in the winter and are very tame. Sometimes they come close and eat out of your hand. There is a trail that leads you around the whole lake, great for dog walking.

I live next to Freeman Lake, 200 yards and I'm on the 5 mile trail around it that is part of the Green Space trails. I have walked that trail almost 4000 times over the last 19 years, I keep limbs cleared and have carried my chainsaw in many times when trees fall across. The biggest mess was the 2007... More

Our favorite thing to do at Freeman Lake is to ride our bicycles around the entire lake. It takes a novice like me around 90 to 120 minutes. For me, the difficulty level is VERY DIFFICULT... but very fun, too. The ride might be too much for children under age 13 or folks with health issues. I don't recommend taking... More

A dog park, fishing, canoe/kayak launch, and disc golf are just a few of the activities available. There are 5 miles of trails to bike, hike or jog which connects Freeman Laker and Veteran Memorial parks. There is a specialized kayak launch to allow mobility impaired individuals to paddle the lake with friends. Children's play areas are available as well... More

Great place to take kids. We especially love taking family pictures there & Christmas in the Park! Nice playgrounds, wedding areas, and the lake is beautiful.

This is a very nice place to take my grandchildren. Of course they love the playgrounds, water, ducks, geese, and other animals they might see. We all love the peaceful beauty of nature. They have a walking trail, but I have not been on it for a while. A nice place to relax and unwind...

We stopped hoping for a little oasis in Elizabethtown, but the park was a disappointment. It feels like a man-made lake behind a parking lot. Really not much to say. We won't be coming back.
