We are new to the area and I was looking for a place nearby for some easy access paddle boarding. Freeman lake is perfect. Close to everything yet peaceful and safe. Lots of wildlife. We always see grounds keepers and the police officers who patrol it are friendly and helpful. Happy to have a place like this right down the... More

5 miles of trails. Some gravel, some blacktop, and some dirt. Pedestrians walking have right of way. Great views with lots of ducks and geese. Places to cook, and some historic sights. We biked and it was moderate due to hills and tree roots. Some people fishing and some in paddle boats.

Freeman Lake Park has great trails all the way around the lake. The lake is maintained and seems to be fairly clean. It has several grills and picnic areas with some shelter/pavilion structures. If you want to fly a kite, play catch, or eat a picnic, this is a great place for that.

Just arrived from Europe, the Lake affords a fantastic opportunity for weekly Mountain Biking with my son. Not too difficult, great inclines and straights, the Lake and surrounding areas are beautiful. Pretty well maintained, the Paths are not smoothed but overall a great experience.

Just did a 5k on Saturday - realized that they have put in awesome tennis courts - the pavilions are generally very clean, bathrooms are kept up, the mowing is done regularly - I have taken photo shoots of my clients here, most beaufitul in the fall. Lots of volleyball courts, the boat rentals are super cheap and it is... More

Usually go to FLP about once a week. Usually walk around with the wife, but have also watched tennis there - it is one of the best public facilities in the state - watched an open-water swim meet there, seen 5K races there, seen concerts and fireworks there and have been pedal boating. The pedal boats were cheap (less than... More

We stayed in Elizabethtown on the way to Mammoth Cave National Park. The park is cute, but not worth a trip here unless you happen to already be in town. There was a replica of a log cabin, an old school house, lots of picnic tables, and a lake. Boat rental was $2/hour for a row boat and $5/hour for... More

More than just a park, Freeman Lake has paddle boats, several play grounds, beautiful new tennis courts, and a 5-mile trail that goes all around the 170 acre man-made lake. If you like history, there is some of that as well; 3 hiistoric buildings grace a portion of the park near the lake shore. Up by the largest of the... More

Well maintained If you like to feed ducks this is the place. You can purchase a one day fishing license to fish from bank or rent a paddle boat. Large boat motors are not allowed. Great place for picnic and reunions. The local Heartland Festival is held here in mid August. Great family environment.
