This is a really nice course. The views are breathtaking, it is challenging and well maintained. The only real complaint I have with the course is a lot of the traps were gravel instead of sand, but it does appear they are making an effort to rebuild them. It is a shame our outing was marred by such a rude staff and poor management. We booked a foursome of seniors on a Friday. The course website clearly stated "Senior Friday rates $42" we were charged $55, the starter said they changed their policy and there are no discounts on Fridays. If that wasn't bad enough we had our cooler confiscated while on the course. It is July, the heat index was 100 and an employee rudely demanded we give him our ice water. No beer in the cooler, just water. Really. I completely understand not allowing outside alcohol but taking our water. I have never been treated so poorly at a golf course. I guess being government employees they don't really care. I doubt I will be back.

The golf course has the potential to be first class but it is not maintained. The sand traps have grass growing in them and are muddy. There are several tee boxes that need steps added from the cart path. There is so much potential for this course, too bad they are not keeping it maintained.

This is undoubtedly one of the best public golf courses in kentucky. I play here once or twice a month and it's become one of my favorite places in the world. The course is always is great condition, with perfect fareways, tee boxes and greens. Some of the views it offers off the tee box are unmatched by any courses around. I play from the tips, but it is a challenging and long course, from any tee box. Choose your tee shots and the fareways will reward you with a great lie. The only thing that could improve is the bunkers. They are in the process of fixing them, and some have beautiful white sand, but for the most part, they are unplayable. That's the only reason this review didn't get 5 stars. This course is a must visit if you are in the area, and I drive an hour and a half twice a month to play. Goodluck out there and hit em strait and true. Cheers

We play at this course very often. The course is always in good condition and has some great views! The staff is very friendly and helpful. You will not believe this is a state park course.

Pro Shop staff very friendly. The course was very scenic and course was well maintained. Would be a great place for a guy-trip to stay at the lodge and enjoy some exceptional golf.

This has been a great vacation. Have really enjoyed Dale Hollow Lake resort state park the most. It is beautiful and the signature golf course is to die for. Can't rule out the Lodge and Dining. The views are spectacular.

This is one of the finest golf courses that I have played in my 40+ years of golfing. This course was brought to Kentucky just a few years ago, Styled and maintained with state park funds. It is always in great shape from tees to fairways to greens. They have excellent drainage. As scenic a course as you will ever find. With the elevated greens, to hitting into valleys, a few forced carries. 5 sets of tees ables all skill levels. Plays over 7000 yards from the tips, plenty of sand traps. Best bet here is to play position instead of always choosing length. A riding cart is a must here as it is not designed for the walking golfer.( unless you're a billy goat ). So come play and stay at the lodge or bring your R.V. and boat. Dale Hollow lake has some of the best fishing in the state. But don't forget your clubs. Also keep in mind, this is a dry county for alcohol and beer, so if you like a cold one or a cocktail BYOB. Enjoy!!!

This course ranks right up there with Sandpiper in Santa Barbara. Hard to believe this is a public course. Great elevation changes, zoysia fairways, very good greens, set in the beauty of the hills of Southern Kentucky in a State park. Fairways are like hitting from a plush carpet, Concrete cart paths for entire course . Staff was friendly and very helpful. Close to Lodge so easy to get lunch after your round. We are both 20 handicappers and managed to squeeze out low 90's both days.

2011 - 2013, couple rounds each summer. Always in good if not great condition, very scenic, and rarely crowded. Looking forward to my 2014 summer time rounds as well. I have golfed all over the country at numerous high end courses and resorts, and when you look at what you are getting at Dale Hollow for only $38 per round, this has to be in my top 3 courses ever. Even last summer when the first time we played they had recieved like 10 inches of rain in 11 days time, the course was in good condition and they were trying to maintain the few wet areas and traps the best they could. Can not wait to go back.
