Being on a road trip, I only had time to see and visit the Civil War Museum of this little complex. So this is my take on that portion. Bardstown Civil War Museum is probably one of the better private museums on the Civil War I have seen. And I have seen quite a lot. I was quite amazed by... More

We always add an educational element to every trip we take, and this was a terrific addition to our most recent vacation... Our family of 4 (2 adults, 1 teenager, 1 child) paid $30 to visit 4 museums (The Civil War Museum, Wildlife Natural History Museum, Museum of MidAmerica, and The Women of the Civil War Museum), and the old... The museum does a great job of bringing together in one location the historical times, lives, and conflicts of the Civil War. They have a plenty of documents and artifacts to educate visitors on the war. We could definitely have had more time to study the depth the museum offers. Interesting to learn that both Presidents in the Civil War... More

Go early in the morning (opens 10am) if It is hot and do the outside first before it warms up. As an English person not knowing that much about American history it is very easy to follow and informative.

I like everything about it, the history of not only the Civil War but there is another building with much more history and items from other military events.

We recently spent a couple of hours in the large Civil War Museum and were surprised at it's size. And while it's not Gettysburg, it was detailed and much larger than we thought it would be. If you are a Civil War aficionado, you have probably already seen this, but even if not, it is worth a look.

Located in Bardstown and easy to find. A neat place to visit and take a look around to get a feel of civil war history.

5 museums in one. Not bad for small town effort. Small but good collection and the village is cool. They say they want 100 characters but I really don't think that is necessary.

There are 5 museums all together. You go into the Civil War Museum and you pay your admission for all museums (I think low cost compared to other admission prices). First we visited the village. I love places like these old villages and this village was small but very nice. The buildings were a nice variety so it looked like... More

We enjoyed all of the museums and advise making sure you have extra batteries. You can and will take many photos in all of these museums.
