Very enjoyable and a great overview of the war. A lot of artifacts and interesting exhibits. Take time to read all the info or just admire all the cool things.

I would have been nice to have guided tours through the village, instead of being selfguided. Guides could add more information, than what could be read on the papers attached to each building. Disappointed.

The outdoor village section was really the only interesting part of the entire Civil War museum. We got the full pass, which includes admission to the outdoor village and all 4 museums. Our 6 year old son thoroughly enjoyed exploring "olden days" life in the village. My husband and I found the village to be a neat experience, with good... More

Impressed with the amount of items on display. Agree that the museum could use more information about the artifacts themselves. Had a coupon from our hotel for $1 off, so only cost $5. Can't beat it!

This is a very interesting place if you like civil war memorabilia. The museum has tons of artifacts, and the little village with the log cabins is so fun to walk though. They recreate many aspects of colonial life.

I wholeheartedly agree with Heather B’s assessment “Has so much potential not being realized”. My wife and I thought it wasn’t currently worth the money ($6) but it COULD be a fantastic museum with a little more work. The museum is a lot larger than it looks outside and has TONS of great relics and era pieces but there needs... More

A very well put together museum of artifacts. The tour is about two hours, well worth the time.

Definitely worth going. Reminds you of history lessons you probably forgot. Focuses on western battles but also sets the stage of the war's beginning. I thought as a woman not into battles I would be bored but I wasn't.

First of all, they have a TON of items. One of the best collection of civil war items I have seen outside of the larger battlefield museums. HOWEVER, if there is a sign explaining what this item is, or it's relevance, it looks like it was part of an Eagle Scout project and not made by any true historian. Typos... More

Good museum focused toward the western theater of the Civil War. Many people don't realize that there was fighting west of the Ohio river and this museum does a good job of covering that part of the war. May be a little boring for a non Civil War buff, but very interesting for those who are.
