I visit zoos everywhere I go, if possible, and this zoo is one of the better small town zoos. The facility was clean and in good repair. The exhibits were nice and the diversity of animals was good. Their aviary is excellent! They had some rare birds on exhibit and the Flying Fox in the aviary was fun to watch.

Wichita zoo is conveniently located on Wichita's west side. It is a very large zoo with many animals but you don't have to see everything in one day. It is worth coming back for a second or third visit. Brand new tropical exhibit!

SCZ is a wonderful zoo. The number of animal conservation programs is not only amazing but encouraging. As a progressive zoo, there are no traditional bar cages for the animals and most are in large open enclosures. They are coming up on the completion of the new elephant enclosure soon and I'm excited by the looks of it. The layout... More

I was so lucky to grow up near Wichita and have the Sedgwick County Zoo experience every summer as a kid. Having lived out of Kansas for 8+ years and visited other zoos, I have come to appreciate what a gem this is! Animals are never in claustrophobic cages; the zoo does its best to simulate the environment for each... More

I've lived near the zoo most of my life. It continues to improve and is one of the greatest zoos ever! Currently the new elephant sanctuary will be finished soon! New primate exhibits and the penguin exhibit as well. A must do in Wichita!

My kids and I loved visiting the Sedwick county Zoo. There's plenty to see and do like feeding the giraffes. There was a neat boat ride through part of the zoo my kids and I really enjoyed. Plus it was their first boat ride :) If you can, take the trolley through part of the park, another enjoyable experience.

This zoo is definitely worth your time to visit. You can easily spend the day there. They have a great membership program that offers classes at a discount. They also allow you to bring your own food, but they have a small, restaurant.
