I have been to the Wichita Sedgwick County Zoo many times and it just gets better every time! New exhibits and animals keep things changing. Depending on the time of year and even the time of day, different animals and plants await you. I have seen some amazing things at this zoo and plan on frequent return trips. Definitely a... More

We went in December, so not all the activities and animals were open, but it was still a great zoo. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The exhibits were clean and interesting.

I like to visit zoos pretty much everywhere I go. This is my home zoo but it is still one of my favorites. Other zoos have different animals but I love the jungle building here. Walking among the plants and birds of a jungle is awesome! One time a bird kept trying to eat my sons shoelaces, it was hilarious.... More

The Sedgwick County Zoo is the most visited attraction in Kansas and would probably remain so even if Kansas had more major attractions. Several of the exhibits are the modern "habitat" style enclosures. This is one of the only zoos in the world to display both Amur leopards and Amur tigers. The Amur tigers are the largest members of the... More

We didn't know what to expect, and were pleasantly surprised by the size, layout and exhibits. They are building a new habitat for elephants and it should be amazing when finished. The animals seemed healthy and were very active when we were there.

The day was exceptionally warm for December. Family was here so we went to the zoo. The animals were all out and active, zoo grounds itself was clean. Highly recommended.

This zoo is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. It took us about 4 hours to walk the entire zoo even with some of the exhibits closed for winter. The zoo grounds were very clean, the animals looked very healthy and well cared for. We saw several animals that I had never seen before in other zoos... More

I won't pretend to claim that I've been to every zoo in the world, let alone every zoo in the state of Kansas. I have visited many fine zoos over the years, including the San Diego Zoo/Animal Park (whatever they call themselves - been a few years since I was there and I'm talking about the one in/near Balboa Park!),...
