We were keeping two of our grandsons (4 and 6) in Salina, Kansas while their dad and mom, our son and daughter-in-law were taking care of some business. We had one day to do something with them, and that day turned out to be overcast, cold (40 degrees), and a little drizzly every now and then. We have planned to... More

I love our zoo! I have had a membership for a couple of years and I try to get out to the zoo every month or so. It's a pleasant stroll around the grounds, and as a photography buff I like to catch an animal when it's active and take as many interesting shots as I can. There are fewer... More

For what the ticket price was worth I didn't really get to see any animals. I suppose it was a bad time of the year though.

Attended the Pumpkin Pazoola autumn celebration at the Rolling Hills Zoo in Salina, Ks. on Oct. 13. It was such a beautiful day and a perfect outing for the family. Many, many things for the kids to do, and a free pumpkin to boot. The staff and volunteers were great to all the kids, from 2-92, so helpful and accomodating.... More

The Museum is very comprehensive and has lifesized taxidermied animals and diorama from all 7 continents. If you have little ones it can be a bit overwhelming. Recommend getting there early and visiting the Museum first. By the time you are finished the animals will be up and around in the Zoo.

Rolling hills has really blossomed. They have a such a variety of animals, from bears to lions to snakes and of course, the Walkers' prized Rhinos. Great for walking around and enjoying a nice day outside. They also have a really unique taxidermy museum where you can enjoy getting a closer look at some animals.

The Zoo itself is nice, not as big as Kansas City Zoo or Omaha, but it was clean. The museum was the save in grace here. Alot of time and effort has been put into the museum and that alone is worth the trip.
