This is the place I take most of our out of town visitors. Walking the garden paths brings peace to the most hectic of days. They have new attractions each season, and the winter luminary walk is a DON'T MISS event! Kids of all ages LOVE the train garden!

The Arboretum is a hidden gem! It is gaining publicity and knowledge by the community and surrounding areas. Perfect walk no matter what you need: short or long, paved or unpaved (wood chip), undulating or flat, garden - lake- water garden - forest selections. Just about anything you could want. There is also a sculpture area within the wooded walking... More

This a beautiful place to sit and relax or stroll the gardens, hike the bluffs, listen to music in the park, or attend a fun child's program. A must OT experience! Beautiful gardens for every age!

This is a spectacular showplace in the Kansas City area. The Arboretum as a whole is magnificent but for me the outstanding highlight is the Monet Garden designed and maintained by the local Master Gardeners. Just a wonderful outdoor space that the whole family will enjoy. There is a railway garden that the kids just adore! All this for just... More

Wonderful place to enjoy the out of doors and walk. The flowers are lovely. It covers several acres and many places just to sit and enjoy the views. There is a small charge for certain days of the week, but it's worth it.

Just went to the Arboretum and gardens for the first time. It a beautiful place. The flowers and assorted plants are so pretty. The train garden was my personal favorite. Great for kids of all ages. Enjoyed watching the little ones' eyes light up when the toy trains went by under their feet, across the bridges and through the garden.... More

It cost $3 for a day of taking in beautiful scenery. This arboretum was absolutely gorgeous! There is beautiful flowers, trees, lakes, statues, and sculptures. You could spend nearly a full day taking in the beauty this place has to offer. The volunteers are very friendly and helpful. If you love nature and want to experience the beauty earth offers,... First visit in over fifteen years. The changes included a visitor center, Garden Cafe and admission. The admission of $3.00 for adults for all day is very reasonable. You can come and go all day for the price of admission. Trails are from .4 of a mile (asphalt), concrete which meanders around ponds and gardens for a mile or so... More

A great place to hike and actually feel like you've gotten away (at least for the suburbs of KC), beautiful flowers and ambiance. We go every chance we get.

I thought it was a great place to walk & reflect. We both had a day off from work so we visited the garden. It was a lovely day. The gardens & trails were very nice. We loved the sculptures & did not understand the controversy. Take a day off & make your own decisions.
