Highly recommend this place for a wooded respite, walk, art appreciation, etc. Small waterfalls, flora and fauna, pond really beautiful. Only downside was mosquitoes a couple of times-bring repelant! And the extended amount of Chinese sculpture/Buddhas with educational descriptions etc. seems very out of place in our rural Johnson County area. Would rather see more from a variety of ethnicities... More

This place is wonderful! It's a little bit of a drive, but well worth it. Quiet, picturesque, serene. Interesting art and beautiful flowers. Even if you're not into that, it's an ideal place for a walk or stroll with your significant other.

Delightful place to walk in nature. The arboretum is lovingly cared for by many people. The displays continue to grow and much of the pathway is now themed. Spring and early summer are best times for viewing the numerous floral displays. Some play area for children. Be aware that the extensive sculpture garden is considered "adults only" by many people.... More

Spring is returning and soon the flowers will be in bloom! You don't need an excuse to get out but if you want one, the Arboretum makes a great one! The natural beauty of the Arboretum, the walking trails, the sculptures... I could describe them to you in vivid detail but this is best experienced first-hand. Break that cabin fever... More

This is our favorite walking journey. The Arboretum I contains a beautiful sculpture garden, pond with water attractions, kids activities like a miniature train complete with a station and numerous trails. One of the many venues that make Overland Park a wonderful city.

Located fairly far south in Overland Park, the Arboretum is easily accessible from U.S. 69. There is an attractive botanical garden inspired by Monet's garden at Giverny, outside Paris. There are extensive walks through the wooded arboretum area and a growing sculpture garden, so you can easily spend several hours here on a nice day. It's a great escape from... More

I went there with my family for the fall season, it was cold, but, it was really worth it seeing all of the nature, because I am a nature lover and I always enjoy coming here with my family

My sister and I recently visited about a month ago and it was kind of a gamble because it was fall time and we were unsure of how nice it would look. When we started to walk around the front pond area the view took my breath away! The fall colors was spectacular! They had some areas for kids which... More

I'm embarrassed to say I live nearby and had never visited the Arboretum. I wished I had much sooner. This is a fantastic place to get it touch with nature. Wear good walking shoes, bring a bottle of water, and enjoy the walking trails. Animals are welcome, but on specific trails only. There are benches around the lake to sit,... More
