I have been going to the Overland Park Arboretum for many years. All of my kids have enjoyed our outdoor adventures. The Arboretum has many hiking trails, a small lake, and fun activities for the kids. You will not go wrong with a visit here, whether for a picnic, hike or family gathering.

Relaxing, beautiful, well-designed, natural - all those words barely scratch the surface of describing how wonderful this garden is. Visit the Monet garden and reminisce about your last visit to his home in Giverny, France - complete with a beautiful bridge and wildflowers. Sit by the pond and enjoy the plant life as well as the butterflies and the sparkle... More

Who doesn't like an arboretum? Not the most spectacular in the world, but they do lots of things for kids.

This is a wonderful area to go to escape the city for awhile; to be able to see nothing but plants & sky. Very restful & calming.

Arboratum was our frequent weekend visiting spot. My 7 years old son just loved the trail, garden and my husband and i enjoyed the vast greenery. Play area for children is also an added attraction. Make sure to carry water and snacks for children as its pretty long trail for small children.

We go here every year at Christmas to look for birds and take pictures of them. It is a short .3 mile walk from the entrance to the small cabin that acts as a bird blind. It is surrounded by feeders. We take our 500 mm lens and get great photos of cardinals, woodpeckers, nuthatches and specialty sparrows (Harris, Wts,... More

I love this place. My kids (teenagers) love to walk and talk here. My dogs love the lower trails. We have so many memories. The luminary walk is spectacular as well. We go every year!

We usually really enjoy the luminary walk every year with our son. This year we arrived at 8:00 and encountered so much congestion on the walk, we stood in line for majority of the wooded walkway. This ruined the ambiance to say the least. Once we reached the activities, the hayride was no longer being offered and Santa was not... More

This is a wonderful place to take the kids for an outing in Overland Park. Lots of hiking trails and wonderful gardens to explore along with special nooks for climbing on things, playgrounds, and ponds. The grandkids always shout "yes" when asked if they want to return. Some days are free, while most are a minimal charge.

For a few dollars take yourself and if you want you dog for a walk. Great nature trail with lots of animals for dog walking or if you prefer non pet trails for reading meditating or just enjoying nature. Check out their themed decorations too.
