This place is awesome. If you like plants, flowers and nature, this is for you. It is out in the country but easy to find. The paths are lovely and there are so many neat sections to explore. You can see woods, a Monet water garden, streams, fountains, ponds, wildlife and more. And, the garden changes throughout the seasons. They... More

Nice, quiet area to commune with nature. Also, lovely flowers and water features. Love the statues. Just recently added a fee. Used to be free.

We visit arboretums and botanical gardens from Chicago to Denver to Portland. Overland Park Arboretum has the best Sculpture garden we've seen.

Fairly new arboretum with a wide range of plant life and landscaping ideas. Fun, but not trendy. This is about art, both with plant and hardscaping, and about wonderful international sculpture in a forested setting. At $3, this is a great value. Includes a wonderful outdoor train area the kids will love. Looks very well funded and expanding rapidly.

The Arboretum has beautiful manicured gardens with paved trails as well as more remote mulched trails. There's also a birdwatching area. A variety of programs and activities are offered throughout the year. Admission is free on Tuesdays, with a small fee on other days.

A bit of a drive from the city, but a lovely collection of gardens and hiking paths. There is a vast array of options--from manicured rose gardens to natural woods and fields. Sculptures and artwork are scattered around the paths as well, including some beautiful driftwood horses running through a clearing in the woods.

My kids and I went here. My oldest son had been for school, so it was a real confidence booster for him to show us around. We went through everything up front, but we had the most front exploring the back of the park. There's A LOT of trails, places to walk, trees to walk over that have fallen over... More

There are a number of open spaces within Overland Park, but none compensate for the area's urban sprawl as dramatically as the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. A nominal admission fee of $3 provides access to several miles of trails that meander through enchanting and extremely well maintained gardens, streams, and a small waterfall. A real delight for all ages!
