Wonderful place to enjoy the out of doors and walk. The flowers are lovely. It covers several acres and many places just to sit and enjoy the views. There is a small charge for certain days of the week, but it's worth it.

Just went to the Arboretum and gardens for the first time. It a beautiful place. The flowers and assorted plants are so pretty. The train garden was my personal favorite. Great for kids of all ages. Enjoyed watching the little ones' eyes light up when the toy trains went by under their feet, across the bridges and through the garden.... More

It cost $3 for a day of taking in beautiful scenery. This arboretum was absolutely gorgeous! There is beautiful flowers, trees, lakes, statues, and sculptures. You could spend nearly a full day taking in the beauty this place has to offer. The volunteers are very friendly and helpful. If you love nature and want to experience the beauty earth offers,... First visit in over fifteen years. The changes included a visitor center, Garden Cafe and admission. The admission of $3.00 for adults for all day is very reasonable. You can come and go all day for the price of admission. Trails are from .4 of a mile (asphalt), concrete which meanders around ponds and gardens for a mile or so... More

A great place to hike and actually feel like you've gotten away (at least for the suburbs of KC), beautiful flowers and ambiance. We go every chance we get.

I thought it was a great place to walk & reflect. We both had a day off from work so we visited the garden. It was a lovely day. The gardens & trails were very nice. We loved the sculptures & did not understand the controversy. Take a day off & make your own decisions.

This place is simply beautiful, and no matter what your walking ability, it has something appropriate for you. Slow walkers can amble around the more formal displays, and those who like long walks or hiking can take off on the trails. HOWEVER, do not overlook this park for holiday memories. Their Halloween and Christmas events are NOT to be missed.... More

This is a nice garden to visit before the heat of the summer. They have a nice setup, there are facilities to go in to cool off and get something to eat or drink and the actual plants are very nicely arranged. I especially liked the statues, even if one of them is controversial.

The arboretum is a wonderful and relaxing place to visit. The trails and layout are great. Lots of shade, streams and water, bridges, places to sit, gorgeous plants, interesting landscaping, sculptures, tranquility, and people to answer questions. Love that they have paved and unsaved trails here. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

I'm a local and have visited the Arboretum several times. You can come to just walk around the lake, take the paved path and enjoy the 25 or so large sculptures donated by young Chinese artists or take to the paths and enjoy some easy hiking in the park. You can easily spend hours hiking and walking around. Most days... More
