Liberty Hall is in downtown Lawrence, where it was originally the town Opera House back in the 1800s. It is the only place in town where you can see first class movies. Here is were you see indie films, foreign films, and other cinema that doesn't come to the standard chain movie theaters. The are two screens. The upstairs screen... More

Whether you're checking out the latest indie/semi-indie film or attending a local event, Liberty Hall is a fun place to spend an evening. We've seen two movies, two concerts, a live recording of a radio show, and decorated Christmas trees at Liberty Hall - all events have great service, are in a fantastic atmosphere (check out the ceiling in the... My dear hubby and I enjoyed a Valentine's Day showing of that wonderful love story, "Princess Bride." Neither of us had ever seen it on the big screen and it was such a fun experience to share with other movie-goers. The balcony was full of folks who were ready for a little nostalgia with this classic adventure, drama, love story... More

This iconic theatre/event center is a Lawrence gem located in historic downtown Lawrence. It is a throwback to an older time. The facade is restored to its original luster. The theatres show independent films. The concessions offer real buttered popcorn and beer, yes beer, from the brewery next door. Also, don't exoect the newer theatre seating. The larger theatre is... This is a great venue in which to see a performance. We we seated in the balcony and I doubt there's a "bad" seat in the house. The seats are small and the leg room is pretty non-existent, that's the only drawback.

This is a great theater that provide movies and shows that you just can't get anywhere else in the area. They have the main theater and the "little" theater. You can sit in a regular theater seat in the main theater or at tables and chairs that area set up on the main floor in front of the screen. They... More

I have never been to a concert at Liberty Hall or rented a movie there, but I love to see movies in their theater! The building is old and beautiful, the movies are independent or foreign usually, but they also bring back classics and cult classics that are very fun! The prices are reasonable, the concessions are good. The popcorn... More

Movies at the Hall, renting dvds, concerts... Liberty hall is one of the most vivid and crucial pillars of culture in lawrence. If you live in lawrence, do not let this place scape your weekend choices. and you are visiting, go at least pay it a visit, try to catch a show or a movie (they serve beer!), or check... More

Liberty Hall still is one of my favorite places in Lawrence. A great independent film theater with a wonderful, friendly staff. It is always clean and great place. I hope it doesn't fold like other Lawrence Mass Street institutions.

Liberty Hall is a very unique theatre venue in downtown Lawrence, Kansas. It is located on the north end of Massachusetts Street in this fun college town. Liberty Hall takes you back in time with some art deco design. It is small, cozy, and inviting. There is one large screening area for movies and a Little Theatre on the second... More
