Funky street!!

Great for shopping and strolling around. Multiple restaurants along the way. They have great cafes and places for brunch.

If you are headed to Jayhawk country a stop on Mass Street is a must. Lots of great places to eat, unique shops, bars, coffee, bakeries, live music, etc. Laid back vibe in a historic area where anyone and everyone is appreciated for their unique differences whatever that may be.

There is soooo much to see on Mass but don't forget the other streets as well. It is about 11 blocks of what an amazing downtown SHOULD be. And busy!!! There are only a couple chain stores here, a TCBY and Pita Pit that I noted. Otherwise they are all local and quite the variety. It is not burdened by... More

This was such a cute town to visit. Mass Ave had so many choices for dining or drinks, not to mention all the cute shops.

Massachusetts Street is the singular example of what middle America should be. The activity of the town is here and you can find a huge number and variety of restaurants and shops to include the neighborhood barber, the local hardware store and anything else you could need. Spend some time and you'll experience what small town life should be.

Downtown Lawrence is restaurant after restaurant with very little shopping. The stores that do exist are overly expensive and have useless items for sale. Someone mentioned to me that it was like Boulder and I couldn't stop laughing. Not even close. The art is all "homegrown" too. Very small-town, run-of-the-mill, "safe", and doesn't push you to think. A crafty place... More

This is the street that started the Civil War. Bleeding Kansas, all of the free-state vs. slave-state raids, Western expansion, it all happened here. Enjoy the architecture, unique local shops, lovely gardens and parks, and heart-stealing cafes and restaurants. Pick up pamphlets at the Lawrence visitor's centre before going and take some of the self-guided walking tours. Look for historical... More
