The Telegraph Ave. or State St. of Lawrence

How wonderful to still have a good used bookstore in business. And check out Waxman's candles, a family business since 1970 that makes candles in the back of the store.

Every shop and restaurant are filled. If you go at dinner time, it is sometimes difficult to find a parking spot, and might have to walk a bit to your destination. We ate at a new burger place that was excellent. We had burgers, fries and onion rings. The kids, who are vegetarians had veggie burgers which were made at... More

Food and bars were amazing. Easy to park and walk too and it only cost about $.50 to park for two hours so you didn't have to mess with parking garages.

Lots on interesting stores along with some of the bigger chains. Very ample and low priced parking. Extremely clean and tidy main street. People are proud of their town. Really enjoyed it.

The city planners were way ahead of the curve on this. Lawrence's downtown works! On any given day there are people there walking and shopping. This should be the model for any city planning. Mass St is a little tight for parking but you can park in the back...lots of city lots.

There are many fun shops on Mass Street but if you are a weaver/spinner/knitter/quilter like I am you'll be in heaven. Across the street from each other is a world renowned yarn shop (Yarn Barn) and a fabric store with a jaw dropping selection of quilt fabric (Sarah's Fabrics). Look for free parking behind the buildings.

Mass Street has a little flavor of every personality. You have folks with money, those without, preppy college kids, hipster youth, hippies young and old, and multiple races and cultures. Fun street to just sit and people watch!

This is a great place for people to hang up and shop all kinds of unique little stores. Lot of new people to meet and friendly neighborhood.
