A trendy small town downtown that is thriving. Great place to eat and drink. Lots or bars and restaurants. Also has lots of shops all in about 4 blocks. Easily could take a stroll, shop for a couple of hours and have a bite to eat. Lots of places to cross the street as peds. Parking is better behind the... More

Some unique stores, locally owned stores and restraunts, clothes stores, art and many events make downtown a busy and fun place to hang out and take in the sites.

Mass Street is the reason hat Lawrence is so wonderful. It is the cultural hub of the city. Without Mass street, Lawrence is just another town in Kansas. Be sure to check out The Roost for breakfast, The Toy Store if you have kids (or know kids!) and Mass Street Soda if you want to see something local and quirky... More

Mass is definitely the place to be. Lot's of dining and drinking options and even a surf shop! I expected it to be just a couple of blocks of options but it went on and on.

Downtown Lawrence can keep you busy for quite a while. There are several blocks of shops and restaurants, many of them local. Farmers Market is nearby and it' s worth a visit.

With quaint little shops, old renovated houses, three or four old fasioned barber stores. I enjoy strolling through Massachusetts when its not too hot, watch the many young people having drinks in the numerous cafes. Of course one should not expect Lawrence's main downtown street would be as exciting as a main street in the Big Apple.

After visiting and decades ago even working on Massachusetts Street in Lawrence I realized the names on the businesses change but the old buildings stay the same. I have long been fascinated with this unique downtown stretch that seems to have it's own personality. Restaurants, bars, gift stores and many other establishments help keep this wonderful area it's signature self.... More

Massachusetts Street, where do I start, there is so much packed into this street of street. Tons of great food, beer, and wild and crazy stores to explore. And the night life on this street is bad azzz also. The Granada is a great place to see a band in concert, up close and a good time.

We were in town for the Busker Fest, which was held all up and down Mass Street. I understand that various artists and street entertainers are here on most any given day, but this festival featured an even wider assortment. We enjoyed the singers, instrumentalists, fire-eaters, unicyclists, and magicians, as did the many people who crowded around the performers. The... More
