Well organized tour. Informative and friendly guides. Had no idea what salt mine looked like and was surprised how large the rooms were.

We went here with friends and had a great time. Once you purchase your ticket in no time you are deep down in the salt mine. The history alone is worth the price but, the massiveness of the tunnels will take your breath away. There is a small scale train that will take you deep into some of the old... More

This tour was recommended to us by a Kansan colleague. To be honest, I would not have chosen this attraction because it was about an hour away from our hotel in Wichita, and I thought being 750 ft. Underground might make me claustrophobic. But Hubby wanted to go, and I'm glad we did. We booked the 1 o'clock tour on... More

As I was traveling across Kansas on I-70, I checked out several places that I might want to stop at during my trip. This was about a hour south from Salina. It was worth the detour off my route. I didn't know what to expect or even knew anything about salt mining. The cost for me to eneter was $19.... More

Thank you so much for making a detour to come see Strataca! We're so glad you enjoyed yourself! Our bathrooms underground are an engineering marvel so, we confess, we love it when people notice them. You've made our day with your nice comments. We hope you get to visit again soon! More

We were sad that it was closed today. It looks like it only open on certain days. We were just driving down highhway 50 and it looked awesome. So double check to see if it is open before pulling off the highway. Though it did look cool from the inside.

We are so sorry to hear that you drove a distance to find us closed on Monday, August 11th. Strataca is closed every Monday but Memorial Day and Labor Day but we are open Tuesday through Sunday. It's a good idea to check our website before you come because our hours do vary seasonally and we are closed some holidays.... More

We have been several times and this is just the most fun for all ages. Definitely take the dark ride and the train tour. You will have a chance to go pick up your own salt rock to take home. Take the time to watch the videos and you will learn so much. You can even book a venue--where you... More

We have been wanting to visit for so long, but having small children we were not able to go. Our youngest finally turned 4 years so we made the trip from wichita to hutch. The kids loved it down there and the whole experience is quite interesting. We will visit again, however, I think it would be awesome to check... More

Travel down into a working mine. Enjoyed the equipment on display. Make sure you take the rides, especially the dark ride. Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. If you are taking a day trip to Hutchinson, do the mine first, then the Cosmosphere.
